Diane Veronica Grendell is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 76th District from 2019 until 2023. A Republican, previously, Grendell served as a judge on the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals. She was elected to this position in 2000, 2006, and 2012, and served until 2019. She previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives in a similar seat from 1993 to 2000. She is married to former state legislator and Geauga County Court of Common Pleas Probate and Juvenile Judge Tim Grendell.

Timothy E. Ginter is an American politician serving as the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Ohio House of Representatives. He has served in the House of Representatives since 2015, representing District 5. Ginter is an ordained minister, and has also worked in various other occupations. He ran against Jason Wilson in 2008 for the Ohio Senate, but lost. In 2014, Ginter replaced Craig Newbold as the Republican candidate for state representative in the 5th district. Ginter went on to defeat incumbent Democrat Nick Barborak in the 2014 general election with 59% of the vote. He is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association of America, Buckeye Firearms Association, Salem Chamber of Commerce, an associate member of the Columbiana County Township Association, a member of the Columbiana County Republican Party Central Committee, and currently serves as an appointed member of the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood.

Niraj Jaimini Antani is an American Republican Party politician who serves as a state senator representing the 6th district in the Ohio State Senate. He served three terms as Representative for the 42nd district of the Ohio House of Representatives. His district, the 6th, is composed of northern, eastern, and southern Montgomery County.

Paul Zeltwanger is an American accountant and politician serving as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. from the 54th district. Zeltwanger succeeded Peter Beck, who was facing dozens of felony charges. He won the primary with 51% of the vote, and won the general election with 72% of the vote. Zeltwanger works as a real-estate developer. He is also a certified public accountant.

Bill Dean is an American politician serving as the state representative for the 74th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district includes Madison County as well as portions of Clark County and Greene County.

The 2018 Ohio gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the next governor of Ohio, concurrently with the election of Ohio's Class I U.S. Senate seat, as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various Ohio and local elections. Incumbent Republican Governor John Kasich was term-limited and could not seek re-election for a third consecutive term.

Candice Keller is an American politician and former state representative for the 53rd District of the Ohio House of Representatives, which includes part of Butler County. A Republican, Keller is known for her far-right views. In 2019, she proposed legislation to ban and criminalize abortion in Ohio.

Darrell D. Kick is the state representative for the 98th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of Ashland County as well as portions of Holmes, Knox, and Coshocton counties.

Tracy Richardson is an American politician who has served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives representing the 86th district since 2019. A Republican, Richardson's district includes Union County and the majority of Marion County. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, Richardson served in Operation Desert Shield where she earned a Bronze Star. She currently serves in the Army National Guard. Prior to elected office, Richardson served as a human resources officer for a number of different companies. She also served on the Marysville City Council for nearly nine years.

The 2022 Ohio gubernatorial election was held on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Ohio. Incumbent Republican Governor Mike DeWine won re-election to a second term in a landslide, defeating Democratic nominee Nan Whaley, the former mayor of Dayton, 62.4% to 37.4%. DeWine's 25-point victory marked the continuation of a trend in which every incumbent Republican governor of Ohio since 1994 has won re-election by a double-digit margin.

The Ohio nuclear bribery scandal (2020) is a political scandal in Ohio involving allegations that electric utility company FirstEnergy paid roughly $60 million to Generation Now, a 501(c)(4) organization purportedly controlled by Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives Larry Householder in exchange for passing a $1.3 billion bailout for the nuclear power operator. It was described as "likely the largest bribery, money laundering scheme ever perpetrated against the people of the state of Ohio" by U.S. Attorney David M. DeVillers, who charged Householder and four others with racketeering on July 21, 2020. According to prosecutors, FirstEnergy poured millions into the campaigns of 21 candidates during the 2018 Ohio House of Representatives election, which ultimately helped Householder replace Ryan Smith as Republican House speaker.
