Nkiruka Florence Nwakwe (born c. 1994), also known as Nkiruka Nwakwe, is a Nigerian sprinter and hurdler. She competed at local and international level representing Nigeria in female athletics competitions.

Career

Nkiruka Florence Nwakwe started her career as a junior sprint runner and hurdler in Nigeria where she competes in various local competitions. She won her major competitive gold medal at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Athletics at 200 the metres events and also sparticipated at The women's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Athletics which was held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on 13 and 14 July, [1] she also participated in the African 4 × 400 m relay team that won silver medals at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics with Josephine Omaka from Nigeria, Izelle Neuhoff from South Africa and Bukola Abogunloko another Nigerian. [2] [3]

Abiodun Adesola "Abi" Oyepitan is a British sprint athlete, who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. She won the 100 m at the 2001 Summer Universiade and at the 2002 Commonwealth Games she took a bronze medal with the 4 × 100 m team. She became one of Britain's best female sprinters, becoming the first British female to reach an Olympic final in a sprint event since Kathy Cook. Amusan became the first ever Nigerian world champion and world record holder in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Championships 100 m hurdles gold medal, setting the current world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed up by a wind-assisted 12.06 s in the final. She won gold medals at the 1992 and 1993 African Championships in Athletics at 400 metres hurdles, she also won bronze medal at the 1990 event, and during the 1991 All-Africa Games she won bronze medals in the 400m hurdles. Emily also won the 200 metres at the 2000 Oceania Athletics Championships. Furthermore, she participated in the Nigerian 4 × 400 m relay team that won bronze medals at the 1993 Summer Universiade with Olabisi Afolabi, Omolade Akinremi and Onyinye Chikezie.

Josephine Ada Omaka is a Nigerian sprinter and hurdler. She competed at local and international competitions in athletics representing Nigeria.
