Noah Goldstein is an American record producer, composer, engineer, and mixer, and also works in A&R. He won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for his work on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , and has been nominated for six others. [1]

Early life

Goldstein was born and raised in Philadelphia. [2] He graduated from Temple University with a master's degree in media studies. After graduating, he did a three-month internship at Greenhouse Studios in Iceland, and then moved to New York. He began working at Electric Lady Studios, where his first session was with Patti Smith. [3] [4]

Career

Goldstein has produced, mixed, and engineered on songs and albums including Arcade Fire's Grammy-winning album The Suburbs , [5] Frank Ocean's album Blonde [3] (which Pitchfork named the best album of the 2010s), [6] the single "FourFiveSeconds" by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, [5] Travis Scott's album Rodeo , [7] Anohni's album Hopelessness , [7] and Pusha T's album Daytona , [7] and for artists including Drake, FKA Twigs, Nas, Jay-Z, RZA, and Bon Iver. In 2010, he began working regularly with Kanye West and GOOD Music as a producer, mixer, and engineer, on albums including Watch the Throne , My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , Yeezus , The Life of Pablo , Kids See Ghosts , and Ye . [3] [8] [9] [10] Following his departure from West in 2018, Goldstein was named SVP of A&R at Columbia Records. [9] In 2021, he began production on Rosalía's album Motomami . [11]

"New Slaves" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kanye West, from his sixth studio album Yeezus (2013). It was produced primarily by West, with additional production by Ben Bronfman, Mike Dean, Travis Scott, Noah Goldstein, Sham Joseph, and Che Pope. The song's lyrics discuss slavery and segregation, as well as racism in general, materialism, and stereotypes of African Americans in the United States. It features vocals from American recording artist Frank Ocean, whom West previously collaborated with on Watch the Throne (2011). Motomami is the third studio album by Spanish singer Rosalía, released on 18 March 2022 through Columbia Records. Rosalía enlisted producers Noah Goldstein, Michael Uzowuru, Dylan Wiggins and Pharrell Williams as well as longtime colleague el Guincho to create a concept album about her feelings during the past three years, including troubled times with fame, homesickness and isolation in the form of a collage of the singer's musical influences, especially in Latin music. The three-hour ceremony aired live on Univision and was hosted by singers Anitta, Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini and Thalía.
