Imphal Capital City in Manipur, India

Imphal is the capital city of the Indian state of Manipur. Regional Institute of Medical Sciences

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was established on 14 September 1972 in the name of the Regional Medical College. It is situated in a picturesque locality at Lamphelpat in Manipur, India. The objective of this premier institute is to impart quality medical education and ameliorate the health condition of the eight states of North Eastern Region including Sikkim. It is run by a society named "North Eastern Regional Medical College Society" which was duly registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989.

Manipur Cricket Association

Manipur Cricket Association is the governing body for cricket in the state of Manipur in India and organizes the Manipur cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India as a full member.

Borajao Singh, Singh completed his education from Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Imphal and D. M. College, which were under Guwahati University during those days, securing a BA (Honours) and MA in philosophy. Later, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from LMS Law College, Imphal in 1965, followed by a doctoral degree (PhD) in 1972, making him the first Meitei to be awarded a PhD. He is also the first Meitei to receive a DLitt. He served various colleges in Manipur as a member of faculty and has also been involved in social activism.

Rajkumar Jhalajit Singh is an Indian writer, historian, gandhian and academic, best known for his book, A Short History of Manipur. Born on 14 September 1924 at Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai, Imphal, in the Northeast Indian state of Manipur to Maipak Sana and Ningthemcha Rajani Devi, he did his schooling at local schools and graduated from Guwahati Cotton College. His post graduate studies were at Calcutta University from where he secured his master's degree (MA) in Economics, followed by a graduate degree in Law (LLB). He was active in student politics during his college days and participated in the All India Students' Congress, held in Delhi. He carried on his political activities after studies and was involved with Indian National Congress as a member of the Assam Congress Working Committee and as the general secretary of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee. His contributions are reported in getting Manipur seceded from the undivided Assam state and eventually getting it full statehood.
