Norsk Sjakkblad (The Norwegian Chess Magazine) is a Norwegian chess periodical published by the Norwegian Chess Federation. [1] It serves as a member's magazine for the federation, but is available to subscribers as well. Common topics include tournament news, results, national rating lists and annotated games.

The periodical has been published since 1906, [2] although not continuously. Since 1975 it has been published regularly, [3] currently at the pace of four issues each year. The magazine is based in Oslo. [4]

GM Leif Erlend Johannessen is the present editor of Norsk Sjakkblad.

Ja, vi elsker dette landet National anthem of Norway

"Ja, vi elsker dette landet" is the Norwegian national anthem. Originally a patriotic song, it came to be commonly regarded as the de facto national anthem of Norway in the early 20th century, after being used alongside "Sønner av Norge" since the 1860s. It was officially adopted in 2019. The lyrics were written by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson between 1859 and 1868, and the melody was written by his cousin Rikard Nordraak sometime during the winter of 1863 and 1864. The Norwegian Chess Championship is an annual tournament held in Norway during the month of July, in order to determine the national chess champion. The tournament is held at different venues each year as part of the Landsturnering. Clubs may bid for this tournament, which is awarded by the Norwegian Chess Federation.

The American Chess Quarterly was a chess magazine that was published in the United States from Fall 1961 to 1965 by Nature Food Centres. The headquarters of the magazine was in Cambridge, MA.
