The Norwegian Chess Federation (Norwegian : Norges Sjakkforbund, often abbreviated as NSF) is the national federation of chess in Norway. It was founded in 1914. On 10 July 2022, Joachim Nilsen was elected new chairman. [1]

Budal is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 350-square-kilometre (140 sq mi) municipality existed from 1879 until its dissolution in 1964. It encompassed the Bua and Ena river valleys in the south-central part of the what is now Midtre Gauldal municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative center of Budal was the village of Enodden where Budal Church is located.
Tjølling is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The 70-square-kilometre (27 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1988. Laila Schou Nilsen was one of the foremost Norwegian sportspeople of the 20th century, best known as a speed skater, alpine skier, and tennis player. She was one of the pioneers in women's speed skating, both in Norway and internationally, along with two other skaters from the Oslo Skøiteklub, Undis Blikken and Synnøve Lie. Across her sporting career – which also included handball, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, and motorsport – Nilsen won 101 Norwegian Championship titles, of which 86 were in tennis.
The Norwegian Chess Championship is an annual tournament held in Norway during the month of July, in order to determine the national chess champion. The tournament is held at different venues each year as part of the Landsturnering. Clubs may bid for this tournament, which is awarded by the Norwegian Chess Federation.

Aryan Tari is a Norwegian chess grandmaster. Tari was Norwegian champion in 2015 and 2019 and won the World Junior Chess Championship in 2017. As of September 2023, he is the second-highest ranked player from Norway, after only former world champion Magnus Carlsen.
