Bangladesh Chess Federation is the national federation for Chess and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. [1] [2] Benazir Ahmed is the President of Bangladesh Chess Federation. [3] Syed Shahabuddin Shamim is the General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation. [4]

History

Bangladesh Chess Federation was founded by Qazi Motahar Hossain. Qazi Motahar Hossain was the founding president of All Pakistan National Chess Federation. After the Independence of Bangladesh, he founded the Bangladesh Daba Sangha. The Daba Sangha was re-organized into the Bangladesh Chess Federation, which was established in 1974. Qazi Motahar Hossain became the founding president of the Bangladesh Chess Federation. In 1985, Bangladesh Chess Federation started the annual Dr. Qazi Motahar Hossain International Masters Chess Tournament named after its founding president. [5]

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a conservative, centre-right to right-wing political party in Bangladesh and one of the major political parties of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh national football team is the national recognised football team of Bangladesh and is controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) since 1973 and of FIFA since 1974, even though the Bangladesh Football Federation was first founded in 1972. Bangladesh was elected as a member of the AFC Executive Committee in 1982–1986 and 1998–2002. The current Executive Committee was elected democratically, under an AFC approved constitution and direct supervision of FIFA & AFC, in October 2020.

The Bangla Academy is an autonomous institution funded by the Bangladesh government that fosters the Bengali language, literature and culture, works to develop and implement national language policy and to do original research in the Bengali language. Established in 1955, it is located in Burdwan House in Ramna, Dhaka, within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Bangladesh Academy of Sciences is an academic forum for Bangladeshi scientists and technologists. Established in 1973, it aims to fulfill the role of promoting research and development of sciences in Bangladesh.

Fahmida Khatun is a Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet singer. She was awarded Shilpakala Padak in 2014.

Motahar Hossain is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former State Minister of Primary and Mass Education.

Bangladesh Badminton Federation is the national organization for badminton and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. As of 2022, Abdul Malek is the president of the federation and Kabirul Islam Sikder is the general secretary.

The Muazzin was a monthly journal published in the early 20th century from Kolkata. It was the official mouthpiece of the Khademul Insan Samity. It started out as a quarterly journal but soon changed to monthly.
