Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation is the national federation for Taekwondo and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. [1] Kazi Morshed Hossain is the President and Mahmudul Islam Rana is the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. [2]

History

Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation was established in 1997. [3] In January 2019, the South Korean government donated equipment to the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. [4] In December 2019, Dipu Chakma, became the first Bangladeshi to win a gold medal in Taekwondo at the 13th South Asian Games. [5] [6]

The National Sports Council (NSC) is the governing body to control all the sports federations and councils in the country and is responsible to the ministry of youth and sports. There are a total of 42 different sports federations affiliated with the NSC. Bangladesh Games is the largest domestic multi-sport tournament in the country where athletes and sports teams from all the districts participate.

He received the Bir Bikram, the third highest award for gallantry, for his role in the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was the general secretary for the Dhaka chapter of his party until 2016.

The CT-Cyber Crime Investigation, commonly known as the Cyber Crime Unit, is a division of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime is operated under Dhaka Metropolitan Police of Bangladesh Police. The main function of this division is to counter terrorism in cyber space. It also patrol, prevent, detect and investigate cyber-terrorism and cyber-crime in Dhaka Metropolitan.

Taekwondo is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Taekwondo is being hosted in the International Sports Complex, Satdobato between December 2 and 5, 2019.
