Bangladesh Archery Federation is the national federation for archery and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. [1] Lieutenant General Mohammad Mainul Islam is the president and Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed [2] the general secretary of the foundation. [3]

History

Bangladesh Archery Federation was established in 2001. It became an affiliate of the World Archery Federation in 2003. [4] In November 2019, the foundation received sponsorship from City Group. [5]

Enforced disappearances in Bangladesh are cases in which the Government of Bangladesh directly or indirectly kidnaps people and holds them incommunicado. According to a Dhaka-based human rights group Odhikar, at least 402 people have become victim of enforced disappearance from 2009 to 2017 under the current Awami League administration. These incidents along with extrajudicial killings in Bangladesh has been criticized by The United Nations and human rights groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), a special paramilitary unit in Bangladesh, is alleged to be behind most of these disappearances even though RAB claimed these allegations to be false. The current Awami League government denies involvement in these forced disappearances even when victims later surface in custody.

Mohammad Mainul Islam is a retired lieutenant general of the Bangladesh Army. He is the former Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division and Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Bangladesh Army. He also served as Director General Bangladesh Rifles. He is currently the president of the Bangladesh Archery Federation.

The 2020–21 Bangladesh Premier League was the 13th season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. A total of 13 football clubs are competing in the league. The country's top-flight football competition, Bangladesh Premier League 2020–21 season is kicked off on January 13 after 10 months.

Muhammad Abdul Hafiz is a judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court.

Kazi, also spelt Qazi and Quazi, is a title awarded to Islamic judges, commonly used hereditarily in Bengal as a family name.
