The Bangladesh Karate Federation is the national federation for karate and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. [1] Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan, a commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission, is the President of Bangladesh Karate Federation. [2] Kaw Shaw Hla is the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Karate Federation. [3]
The Bangladesh Karate Federation was established in 1972 as the Bangladesh Judo and Karate Federation. Bangladesh Judo and Karate Federation divided into two, Bangladesh Karate Federation and Bangladesh Judo Federation, in 2001 by Lieutenant General M Harun-Ar-Rashid. [4]
Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers sent Nonka, a karate player, to work with Bangladesh Karate Federation to develop karate in Bangladesh. Mitsuito Yoshido served as the coach of Bangladesh Karate Federation. [5] In 1982, the federation held the first National Karate Championships in Bangladesh. In 2000s, JICA stopped providing coaches and supporting the karate federation. [4]
The Bangladesh national football team is the national recognised football team of Bangladesh and is controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). It is a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) since 1973 and of FIFA since 1976, even though the Bangladesh Football Federation was first founded in 1972. Bangladesh was elected as a member of the AFC Executive Committee in 1982–1986 and 1998–2002. The current Executive Committee was elected democratically, under an AFC approved constitution and direct supervision of FIFA & AFC, in October 2024.

An interest in cricket resulting from the nation's success in Test cricket and participation in the Cricket World Cup overshadowed the past fame in the nation's football legacy. However, More football tournaments are being organized in and outside Dhaka than in any other sport, and football fever grips the nation during every FIFA World Cup as well as the Copa America and UEFA European Championship. Federation officials and experts are still hopeful about the development of football in the country within the next ten years, despite huge financial obstacles, inadequate technical adaptation, and a lack of professionalism.

Its president is the General Waker-Uz-Zaman, OSP SGP psc a four star general of the Bangladesh Army who is also the current Chief of Army Staff (CAS). Bangladesh is the largest country by population that has not won a single medal at the Olympic Games.
The Bangladesh women's national football team is the women's national association football team of Bangladesh controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation under the supervision of the women's football committee. Saif Sporting Club was an association football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 2016, the club competed in the Bangladesh Premier League, the top flight of Bangladeshi football, from 2017 to 2022. On 3 August 2022, the club owners announced that the club will temporarily withdraw from professional football due to insufficient commercial returns from it, days after the end of 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League. They also finished third in the league, which is the best top-tier league result of the club's history. The club played their homes games at Munshiganj Stadium in their final season.
Shamima Akhtar Tulee is a Bangladeshi martial artist who is the first woman in Bangladesh to hold a Shotokan Karate Black Belt, from the Bangladesh Karate Federation, in 1989. She has been the winner of the National Karate Championship five times from 1989 through 1993. She is also the first Bangladeshi Female to win a medal in an International Karate Championship, The Ozawa Cup, in the veteran category; and along with her son, Tahseen Shaan Leon, they formed the first 'mother-son' duo from Bangladesh to win medals at the same International Karate Championship at the same time in 2022. In addition, she is also the First and Only Bangladeshi representative of UNESCO ICM. In 2022 She presented her Research Paper on Youth Martial Arts Education-Theory, in South Korea at ICM’s 2022 International Martial Arts Academic Seminar as part of the MARIE program. She has won many other important awards for self-defense and martial arts. Her notable awards include the Shadhinota Padak, 2022, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque Memorial Medal, 2018, and Lifetime Karate Achievement Award, 2018.
Bangladesh Archery Federation is the national federation for archery and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. Lieutenant General Mohammad Mainul Islam is the president and Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed the general secretary of the foundation.
Bangladesh Chess Federation is the national federation for Chess and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. Benazir Ahmed is the President of Bangladesh Chess Federation. Syed Shahabuddin Shamim is the General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation.

Former secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Communication ASM Ali Kabir was the president of the Federation until his death on January 10, 2022, and was succeeded by the prime minister's principal secretary Tofazzal Hossain Miah.

The Pakistan women's national karate team represents Pakistan in international karate competitions. It is administered by the Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF). Members of the team compete at competitions including the continental and regional games. At the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018, Nargis Hameedullah became the first Pakistani woman to win an individual medal at the Asian Games.

Golam Robbani Choton is a Bangladeshi professional football manager and former player, who is the current managing Bangladesh Army Football Team. He was the former head coach of Bangladesh women's under-14, Bangladesh women's under-17, Bangladesh women's under-20 and Bangladesh women's national football team. He is considered as the pioneer of Bangladesh women's football. Golam Robbani had played for Fakirerpool Young Men's Club and Arambagh KS for most of his playing career as a defender.
