The Norwegian College of Fishery Science was established in 1972 as a joint responsibility of the three Norwegian universities in Tromsø, Bergen and Trondheim. In 1988, a new organisational structure was introduced as NCFS was located to Tromsø and organized as a faculty at the University of Tromsø, keeping some degree of autonomy as its own rector etc. NCFS has a particular responsibility for the development of fundamental and scientific expertise within all areas of fisheries and aquaculture research in Norway. NCFS is also responsible for educating candidates for employment in the fishing industry and fisheries management.
EuroVelo is a network of currently 17 long-distance cycling routes criss-crossing Europe, in various stages of completion. When completed, the EuroVelo network's total length will almost be 90,000 km (55,923 mi). As of November 2022 more than 56,000 km (34,797 mi) were in place. EuroVelo is a project of the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF).

Bent Ånund Ramsfjell is a Norwegian curler from Asker. He is the younger brother of Eigil Ramsfjell, multiple curling world champion and bronze medallist at the 1998 Winter Olympics competition in Nagano.
Steffen Kjærgaard is a Norwegian former professional cyclist. Kjærgaard cycled for US Postal Service (2000–2003). He competed in the individual pursuit at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He twice participated in the Tour de France, taking 89th place in 2000 and 101st place in 2001; in both years team captain Lance Armstrong initially won overall but was later disqualified due to doping. Known as a strong time-trial cyclist, Kjærgaard won the overall World Cup in track cycling in 1993. He won the Norwegian National Road Race Championship in 1994.
Mouvement pour un Cyclisme Crédible or Movement For Credible Cycling (MPCC) is a union created on July 24, 2007 by seven sponsored teams of professional road cyclists : AG2R Prévoyance, Agritubel, Bouygues Télécom, Cofidis, Crédit Agricole, Française des Jeux and Gerolsteiner. The MPCC was created to defend the idea of a clean cycling, in particular according to the strict code of ethics established by UCI. The president of the organisation is former cyclist and team manager Roger Legeay who himself tested positive for amphetamines during his career.
