The North Carolina Tar Heels women's tennis team, commonly referred to as Carolina, represents the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in NCAA Division I college tennis. North Carolina currently competes as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and plays its home matches at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The team's history in the NCAA Championships includes one championship in 2023, one runner-up finish in 2014, and seven other appearances in at least the quarterfinals (2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022). The Tar Heels have won the ITA National Team Indoor Championship seven times (2013, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023). Additionally, the program boasts Twelve ACC tournament championships. [2]
The team is currently led by Brian Kalbas, UNC's all-time wins leader. Kalbas compiled an .836 career winning percentage (513 out of 614 matches) over his first 20 seasons at North Carolina, the highest in ACC history. The North Carolina–NC State rivalry, also known as the State-Carolina game, Carolina–State Game, North Carolina–NC State game, NCSU–UNC game, and other similar permutations, is an ongoing series of athletic competitions between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels and North Carolina State University Wolfpack. The intensity of the game is driven by the universities' similar sizes, the fact the schools are separated by only 25 miles, and the large number of alumni that live within the state's borders. Marcus Holman is an American professional lacrosse player for Cannons Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and an assistant coach for the Utah Utes men's lacrosse team. Holman was an attackman for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He was UNC's all-time leading scorer until Joey Sankey surpassed him during the 2015 season.
The 2015 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by fourth-year head coach Larry Fedora and played their home games at Kenan Memorial Stadium. North Carolina finished the season 11–3 overall and 8–0 in ACC play to win the ACC Coastal Division title. They represented the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship Game, where they lost to Atlantic Division champion Clemson. They were invited to the Russell Athletic Bowl, where they lost to Baylor.

Brian Joseph Kalbas is an American college tennis coach. He has been the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels women's tennis team since 2003. He played college tennis and started his coaching career at the University of Notre Dame before becoming the head women's tennis coach at the College of William & Mary in 1992. He is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Coach of the Year and the winningest women's tennis coach in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history.
