The North East Side (Denver), is a region/area located in both Denver County and Adams County. The neighborhoods located within Denver's north east side are Elyria-Swansea, Commerce City, and Derby. As of the 2007 Denver Piton Foundation and the United States Census Bureau, the region/area had a total population of 53,541 people. [3] [4] [5]

Geography

The North East Side of Denver is bordered by North Denver, (Globeville), North Washington, Welby to the west, East Denver (Cole, Clayton, Northeast Park Hill) to the south, East Denver (Stapleton) to the east, and Adams County to the north. [6] [7]

Demographics

As of the 2007 Denver Piton Foundation [8] and the United States Census Bureau, [9] there were 53,541 people, 16,764 households, and 12,496 families within the north east side communities. There were a total of 18,633 housing units. The racial makeup of the community was 14.52% non-Hispanic White, 3.43% Black or African American, 0.96% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 41.31% from other races, and 3.81% from two or more races. 80.62% of the population wereHispanic or Latino.

The median income for a household in the community was $39,072. About 17.08% of the families and 19.46% of the population were below the poverty line, including 23.37% of those under age 18. The North East Side has a large population of Latinos/Hispanics (mostly Mexican), but there is also a large number of Central Americans and South Americans. [10] [11] [12]

Education

The people that live in the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood in north east denver attend high school at either Manual High School [13] or East High School. [14]

The main elementary schools in the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood is Swansea Elementary School. [15] The main middle schools attended are either Bruce Randolph Middle School [16] or Smiley Middle School. [17]

The main two high schools available for the kids of Commerce City and Derby are Lester Arnold High School, [18] and Adams City High School. [19]

Their main elementary schools are Dupont Elementary, [20] Monaco Elementary, [21] Hanson Elementary (PK-8), [22] Kemp Elementary, [23] Alsup Elementary, [24] Central Elementary, [25] and Rose Hill Elementary. [26] The two main middle schools are Adams City Middle School [27] and Kearney Middle School. [28]

Monument, Colorado Town in Colorado, United States

The Town of Monument is a statutory town situated at the base of the Rampart Range in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The town is part of the Colorado Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 700,000 in 2019. Monument is bordered by Pike National Forest on the west, Colorado Springs and the United States Air Force Academy to the south, foothills and rock outcroppings to the north, and rolling plains to the east. Monument was first settled as a stop along the Rio Grande Railroad in 1872, and the area was incorporated as a town called Henry's Station in 1879, but the name was later changed to Monument. The town population was 10,399 at the 2020 United States Census, an increase from the population of 5,530 in 2010 and 1,971 in 2000. Highland, Denver

Highland is a distinct city-center neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, bounded by West 38th Avenue to the north, a Union Pacific Railroad line on the east, the South Platte River to the southeast, Speer Boulevard on the south, and Federal Boulevard on the west. The Highlands is sometimes used to refer to two separate city-center neighborhoods in Denver; Highland and West Highland, although the two neighborhoods are distinct. Highland and West Highland are both in the area that is referred to as the Northside. Highland is located immediately northwest of downtown. Note that the Highland neighborhood association has a slightly different definition with the easternmost boundary stopping at I-25. And the West Highland neighborhood to the immediate west of Highland, with the borders of 38th and 29th Avenues on the north and south and Federal and Sheridan Boulevards on the east and west. To distinguish between its immediately adjacent neighbor, West Highland, Highland is sometimes referred to as East Highland, Lower Highland or LoHi. The two together are casually called "the Highlands," a term which often falsely encompasses other Northwest Denver neighborhoods such as Jefferson Park, Sunnyside and Berkeley. Realtors have particularly pushed the inclusion of the recently gentrified Berkeley, located directly north of West Highland, as part of the Highlands, sometimes going so far as to refer to Berkeley and parts of Sunnyside as the "Upper Highlands". To add further confusion, within the Highlands neighborhoods there are several historic designations of various degrees, including Potter Highlands, Scottish Highlands and Highlands Park.

Littleton Public Schools

Littleton Public Schools is a school district in Littleton, Colorado which serves several communities within the southern Denver metropolitan area. It is governed by a five-member Board of Education, and administered by a superintendent and four executives. Its headquarters, the Education Services Center, is located in Downtown Littleton. It is the fifteenth largest school district in Colorado. LPS operates 13 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, several alternative programs, a preschool, and two charter schools.

Carmel Mountain Ranch, San Diego Community of San Diego in California

Carmel Mountain Ranch, sometimes shortened to simply Carmel Mountain, or abbreviated to CMR by local residents and organizations is a community of San Diego, California, United States, in the northeastern part of the city. Elyria-Swansea, Denver

Elyria-Swansea is a neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. It is located in East Denver, on the northeast side of the city. In 2007, the neighborhood had 7,218 residents and 1,787 households. The racial makeup of the neighborhood in 2000 was, 9.9% non-Hispanic white, 5.31% African American, 83.02% Hispanic or Latino, 0.7% Native American, and 0.31% Asian.

The North Side (Denver) is a region in Denver County. It is also known as North Denver. The neighborhoods located within Denver's North Side are Sloan's Lake, West Highland, Berkeley, Regis, Chaffee Park, Sunnyside, Highland, and Jefferson Park.

Montbello High School was a high school located in Denver, Colorado, United States in the Denver Public Schools system. It was located in the Montbello neighborhood on the northeast side of Denver. The school opened in fall 1980, the first graduating class being the class of 1981. The school's final class graduated in 2014. In 2020 the Denver Public Schools Board of Education committed to re-opening Montbello High School at its current campus, as well as creating a new feeder middle school. Both schools will open in the 2022–2023 school year. The Board formalized the next steps for unifying the existing school communities to reimagine them as a large comprehensive Montbello High School.

Regis is a neighborhood in Denver. Located in North Denver, its boundaries are Harlan Street to the west, Clear Creek (Colorado) to the northwest, 52nd Avenue and the northern border of the Regis University campus to the north, Federal Boulevard to the east, and highway I-70 to the south. The Berkeley neighborhood is adjacent to its south end and the Chaffee Park neighborhood is adjacent to its east end. Located in the neighborhood is Regis University and the Willis Case golf course.
