North High School (commonly North, North High, or NHS) is a public high school located in Sioux City, Iowa with an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students. The school is a part of the Sioux City School District and is one of three public high schools in Sioux City.
The school mascot is Stars, and their colors are red and blue.

Jacqui Kalin led the school basketball team to a Class 4A Iowa State Championship in 2007. [7] She holds the school records for assists in a season (146) and career (324), and for free throws in a career (245), and holds the school and city record in the 400-meter hurdles. [7]
The school is serviced by Sioux City Transit, which is open to all fare-paying passengers Monday to Friday during the school year.[ citation needed ]

Burlington Community High School, or Burlington High School, is a four-year public high school located in Burlington, Iowa. The school has an enrollment of 1,092 students in grades 9 through 12. It is located at 421 Terrace Street and takes up the entire block on the west side of the street, from Terrace Drive, to Roosevelt Avenue, and north-south, from Division Street, to Johanssen Drive. The current building was completed in 1969, with the first graduating class in 1970. Prior to that, the school was located in another two-building campus two blocks west of Central Avenue, near the downtown business district. Until 1983, 9th grade students were enrolled in a separate building. The following school year, ninth grade was integrated into the high school.

The War Eagle Conference is a 11-team high school athletic conference in Northwest Iowa. The schools are classified as 1A and 2A, the two smallest classes in Iowa. The conference is widely recognized as one of the best small school baseball conferences in the state, often sending multiple teams to the state tournament. The WEC has also been successful in boys basketball housing multiple state champions, the most recent being South O’Brien boys in 2015–16 as Class 1A state champions at a record of 25–3. It is one of three high schools in the Sioux City Community School District, and is fed by East Middle School, Nodland Elementary School, Sunnyside Elementary School, Morningside Elementary School, Spalding Park Elementary School, and Unity Elementary School and Students living South of Irving Elementary.
The 2015–16 Drake Bulldogs women's basketball team represented Drake University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bulldogs were led by fourth year head coach Jennie Baranczyk, and Jacqui Kalin served as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach.
Brittni Donaldson is an Assistant Coach for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association. She previously served as an Assistant Coach / Director of Coaching Analytics for the Detroit Pistons during the 2022-2023 season and was an Assistant Coach for the Toronto Raptors from 2019-2021. Donaldson was the first female coaching hire in franchise history for all 3 NBA organizations.
Jacqui Kalin is an American-Israeli former college and professional basketball 5-foot-8 point guard. In college at the University of Northern Iowa, she set the free throw percentage NCAA Division 1 career record, and was twice named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. She played two years of professional basketball in Israel, and played for the Israel women's national basketball team.
