Aberdeen is a city in North East Scotland, and is the third most populous Scottish city. Aberdeen is one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas, and has a 2020 population estimate of 198,590 for the city of Aberdeen, and 227,430 for the local council area making it the United Kingdom's 39th most populous built-up area. The city is 93 mi (150 km) northeast of Edinburgh and 398 mi (641 km) north of London, and is the northernmost major city in the United Kingdom. Aberdeen has a long, sandy coastline and features an oceanic climate, with cool summers and mild, rainy winters.

The new Aberdeen stadium is a football stadium under early stages of construction in Kingswells, Aberdeen, Scotland. The new stadium, called Kingsford Stadium, would be the home of Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen FC to replace the existing Pittodrie Stadium. The development, 10.4 kilometres (6.5 mi) to the west of Aberdeen city centre, received planning approval from Aberdeen City Council in January 2018. Construction began in July 2018, with the first phase, a training facility named Cormack Park, opened in October 2019. The stadium had been scheduled for completion by 2023, but in the midst of disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland, the club confirmed that the project had been put on hiatus, and in 2021 alternative designs at the city's beachfront close to Pittodrie were released.

Torry Academy was a secondary school in Torry, Aberdeen, run by Aberdeen City Council. The original school was built in 1927 and added to in 1947, creating the granite part of the school building. The school was extended in the late 1970s on the site of The Moundie to create an additional 3-storey block. Torry Academy was closed on July 6, 2018, prior to the opening of the new £47 million Lochside Academy in Altens. It closed around the same time as Kincorth Academy. Both schools were replaced by Lochside Academy. After almost 3 years, demolition work began in April 2021, before being finished in September.
Sam Benjamin Cosgrove is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for EFL League One club Barnsley. He began his career with Wigan Athletic, and had loan spells in non-league football with Barrow, Chorley, Nantwich Town and North Ferriby United before making his Football League debut with Carlisle United. A successful three seasons with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership preceded a return to English football with Birmingham City in 2021. After loans at Shrewsbury Town, AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth Argyle, he signed for Barnsley in 2023.

Its feeder primary schools are Abbotswell School, Charleston School, Kirkhill School, Loirston School, Tullos School, and Walker Road School. It serves secondary age pupils in the Cove Bay, Kincorth, Torry, and Nigg areas of Aberdeen. It opened in August 2018, at the start of the new school year.
