Nowiny [nɔˈvinɨ] is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Stara Kiszewa, within Kościerzyna County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. [1]

Gmina Stara Kiszewa is a rural gmina in Kościerzyna County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the village of Stara Kiszewa, which lies approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) south-east of Kościerzyna and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Kościerzyna County is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Pomeranian Voivodeship, northern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and only town is Kościerzyna, which lies 51 kilometres (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk. Its borders equal approximately the borders of the old Marquessate of Berent in the German Empire.

The history of Pomerania starts shortly before 1000 AD with ongoing conquests by newly arrived Polans rulers. Before that the area was recorded nearly 2000 years ago as Germania, and in modern-day times Pomerania is split between Germany and Poland. The name Pomerania comes from the Slavic po more, which means Land at the Sea.
