Nozipho Mxakato-Diseko (1 November 1956) is a South African diplomat. She is currently the United Nations Ambassador for South Africa. [1] For the Paris Agreement, Mxakato-Diseko was the leader of the G77 bloc during negotiations. [2]

Biography

Mxakato-Diseko was born in Johannesburg on 1 November 1956. [3] She attended Somerville College, Oxford and has a doctorate in philosophy which she earned in 1991. [4] [3] She worked as a campaigner for the African National Congress (ANC) and also as an activist in Soweto for the ANC. [5] [3] She also raised money for the British Defence and Aid Fund. [3]

Mxakato-Diseko began as a representative of South Africa at the International Atomic Energy Agency in the mid-1990s. [5] She has been the South African negotiator since 2011. [4]

Bongani Thomas Bongo is a South African politician, whose ANC membership is currently suspended along with the party's secretary-general Ace Magashule. Bongo is the former Minister of State Security, a position to which he was appointed on 17 October 2017 by President Jacob Zuma until he was relieved from the post on 28 February 2018. He was the only appointment that had not been a cabinet minister before. He is also the elected President of the University of Limpopo's Alumni and Convocation Association. Claudia Nonhlanhla Ndaba is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress, she has served as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and People with Disabilities since 2019 and has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2014. She served as Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Filling of Vacancies in the Commission for Gender Equality twice during her first term in parliament. Prior to her election to parliament, Ndaba served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2009 to 2014.

Azwindini Jeremiah "Jerry" Ndou is a South African politician and diplomat who has served as a Delegate to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) since October 2022. Before that, he represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and Limpopo Executive Council.
