Nubeena is a town and fishing village on the Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania, Australia a township of Tasman Council, and seat of the municipality. At the 2016 census, Nubeena had a population of 481. [1] It is the largest settlement on the peninsula. [3]
Nubeena is served by 97.7 Tasman FM and Pulse FM Tasman which is run by the JNET Radio Network.
The town is halfway along the west coast of Tasman Peninsula, on Parsons Bay, which is a narrow continuation of Wedge Bay. It is 10.3 km (6.4 mi) north-west of Port Arthur.
Nubeena has an oceanic climate (Köppen: Cfb), with very mild summers and cool winters. Due to its position on the Tasman Peninsula, there is little rainfall and seasonal variation. Average maxima vary from 18.9 °C (66.0 °F) in February to 11.0 °C (51.8 °F) in July while average minima fluctuate between 11.2 °C (52.2 °F) in February and 5.7 °C (42.3 °F) in July and August. Mean average annual precipitation is moderately abundant: 1,148.6 mm (45.22 in), and is very frequent, spread across 201.2 precipitation days. The town has 206.1 cloudy days and only 32.7 clear days per annum. Extreme temperatures have ranged from 37.0 °C (98.6 °F) on 3 January 1991 to −0.5 °C (31.1 °F) on 25 July 1986 and on 19 September 1994. [4] All climate data was sourced from Port Arthur.

Nubeena Post Office opened on 1 December 1886. The first postmaster was Joseph Thornton (1813-1899) who carried the mail between Wedge Bay to Premaydena, then Impression Bay. [5]
The town possesses a police station [6] and a branch of the Country Women's Association. [7]

The 2016 census recorded a population of 309 for the state suburb of Murdunna. It is a small town at the head of King George Sound, a narrow bay opening off Norfolk Bay. Murdunna is approximately halfway down the Forestier Peninsula on the Arthur Highway to Port Arthur. It is around 6 metres above sea level.
Liawenee is a small town in Tasmania, Australia built near Great Lake and the River Ouse, and was established on 11 June 1920. The town is an ex-Hydro village and now a residence for Inland Fisheries Services (IFS) and a Tasmania Police station. It is known for its exceptional fishing at nearby Great Lake and hosts several trout fishing events.
