Oakfield Park School (formerly OakTree School) is a coeducational special school in Ackworth, West Yorkshire, England. [1]

In early 2000s Oakfield Tree School was renamed into Oakfield Park School

On 5 September 2017 new classrooms were opened, and to communicate with new and ongoing students (though kept a[ clarification needed ] ongoing students) a Blu-ray Disc system was installed in some classrooms.

The village planned to open an Ackworth FM studio and launch the station by 2019 next to the Oakfield Park School on the left side of the tennis court. This failed due to the station going into administration, and the station license was not awarded by Ofcom. The building was demolished.

New building

In late-2014 work on the New Building had begun. The new building was completed, and a new logo was introduced in summer 2015. Jumpers and T-shirts for students were redesigned accordingly.

Mobile phones ban

In February 2019, The school banned the use of mobile phones in school because of the calling too hard, noise and other expensive calls.

In May 2019 Oakfield Park School launched a new app called SchoolJotter which is available for Android and iOS devices.

Llantarnam School was a state-funded and non-selective comprehensive school in the Llantarnam suburb of Cwmbran, Torfaen in Wales. Construction began in 1950 and was the first of three secondary modern schools to be built in Cwmbran New Town. It became a comprehensive in 1971 with extensions such as the sixth form building, sports hall and leisure center built by 1975. As part of Torfaen County's 21st century programme, Llantarnam closed in 2015 and was merged with Fairwater High on the latter site to form the larger Cwmbran High School. One Room Schoolhouse Park is a small park located on the southeast corner of Astoria Boulevard and 90th Street in the East Elmhurst neighborhood of Queens, New York City. Its name recalls the site of Queens's last one-room schoolhouse, demolished in 1934. The schoolhouse was built only five years after New York State required compulsory education for children in 1874. Last called P.S. 10, the school was also known as the Bowery Bay School, after an earlier school established in 1734, and as the Frogtown School. Frogtown was a poor community located in a swampy area north of Astoria Boulevard, near the present-day LaGuardia Airport. Emma Fagan headed the school from 1879 to 1910. The 15 by 28 foot classroom had capacity for fifty-two students divided into six classes. The six rows of desks were arranged according to the age and ability of the students. The beginners were seated at the smaller desks in the front, while the more advanced students occupied the back rows. In the center of the classroom, a stove with a pipe extending to the roof that kept the space warm during winter.
