Nsukka is a town and a Local Government Area in Enugu State,Nigeria. Nsukka shares a common border as a town with Edem,Opi,Ede-Oballa,and Obimo.
The University of Nigeria,commonly referred to as UNN,is a federal university located in Nsukka,Enugu State,Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960,the University of Nigeria has three campuses in Enugu State–Nsukka,Enugu,and Ituku-Ozalla –and the Aba campus in Abia State.
Enugu State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria,bordered to the north by the states of Benue and Kogi,Ebonyi State to the east and southeast,Abia State to the south,and Anambra State to the west. The state takes its name from its capital and largest city,Enugu. The city acquired township status in 1917 and was called Enugwu-Ngwo. Due to the rapid expansion towards areas owned by other indigenous communities,it was renamed Enugu in 1928.
Nnewi is a commercial and industrial city in Anambra State,southeastern Nigeria. It is the second largest city in Anambra state after Onitsha. Nnewi as a metropolitan area has two local government area,which are Nnewi North and Nnewi South,all centred around the Nnewi town. Even Ekwusigo local government area is now part of Nnewi urban area,as urbanization continues to spread from Nnewi to neighbouring communities. The Nnewi town which is the only town in Nnewi North comprises four villages:Otolo,Uruagu,Umudim,and Nnewichi. Nnewi had been the centre of economics and commerce,being at a time the fastest growing industrial city east of the Niger,being the home of many industries such as The Ibeto Group,the Chicason Group,Cutix Cables,amongst others. The first indigenous car manufacturing plant in Nigeria is located in the city while the first wholly Made-in-Nigeria motorcycle,the 'NASENI M1' was manufactured in Nnewi.
Eni Njoku was a Nigerian botanist and educator. He was vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos (1962–1965) and the University of Nigeria,Nsukka (1966–1970). He served in the Nigerian House of Representatives as federal minister of Mines and Power,and was chairman of the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria. He was an emissary at OAU-sponsored peace talks.
Ohafia is an Igbo town in the Ohafia local government area (LGA) in Abia State,Nigeria. It is an Igbo speaking region. The ancestral capital of Ohafia town is the centrally located village of Elu. Ohafia Local Government Area,is an administrative jurisdiction assigned by the Nigeria Government,which covers the entire Ohafia villages and other towns such as Abiriba and Nkporo,with its Administrative Headquarters at Ebem Ohafia.

Nru Nsukka is a suburb located in Nsukka town. Nru Nsukka is one of the former old three autonomous communities:Mkpunanor,Nru and Ihe n'Owerre that made up the Nsukka urban area. Nru Nsukka having been upgraded to a suburban area was split into three newer autonomous communities with newly installed traditional rulers. Since 2018,the suburb is now made up of Iheagu Nru autonomous community with its traditional ruler as Sylvanus Arumah,Ezema ne Edem autonomous community with its traditional ruler as Linus.O. Atugwu and the youngest being Umuoyo Nru autonomous community with Paul Atanike as its traditional ruler elect.
Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba is a Nigerian Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology who served as the 14th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He succeeded Bath Okolo who was the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria. Ozumba served as the provost of the college of medicine of the same university between the years 2004 and 2008. The University of Nigeria became the first university in Nigeria to assemble laptops when he was appointed Vice Chancellor and the university opened its first indigenous University Laptop Assembly Complex. The first batch of laptops bearing the Lion brand were released. UNN also founded the Lion Science Park,Nigeria's first university-based science park. A gasification plant was constructed to create synthetic gas from organic solid materials for use in the production of electric power and other uses for the University of Nigeria community. During his tenure also,the University of Nigeria held the first position amongst Nigerian universities in the Webometrics University Ranking for more than three times in Google Scholar citation profiles.

Miriam Odinchezo Iruaku Ikejiani-Clark was a Nigerian Professor of Political Science at the University of Nigeria Nsukka,Enugu State,who also served as minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory.
Charles Arizechukwu Igwe is a Nigerian professor of soil science and the 15th Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He joined the university in the year 1976 as a soil survey assistant and in 1976 he became an academic staff of the institution. In 2016,Charles was appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and re-appointed in 2018.

Emeka Patrick Nwabueze is the first Emeritus Professor of Theatre and Film Studies of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He is also a former dean of Faculty of Arts and ex- director of African studies of the institution.
Timothy Uzodinma Nwala is the first Nigerian Professor of Philosophy. He is recorded as the father of contemporary African Philosophy mainly because he was the first Nigerian graduate in philosophy from an indigenous University and the African Philosophy courses he developed later were adopted for the first time in the curricula of many universities in Africa and the United States. He is the author of the seminal book,Igbo Philosophy. Nwala's idea of an East Central State Volunteer Services Corps just after the Nigerian Civil War majorly contributed to the founding of the National Youth Service Corps by the Gowon administration of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Nwala was one of the pioneer members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He authored the initial drafts of the G-34 Memorandum and the PDP's first constitution.
