Oberoi Realty is an Indian multinational publicly listed real estate development company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company is headed by Vikas Oberoi who is the Chairman and Managing Director of Oberoi Realty. [4] In 2010, the company got listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). [5]

History

Oberoi Realty was incorporated as Kingston Properties Private Limited in 1998. Oberoi Constructions Private Ltd. (OCPL) was incorporated under the Companies Act on 2 November 1993, in Mumbai. [6] OCPL is involved in the business of real estate development and related activities and is a 100% subsidiary of Oberoi Realty Ltd. The current name Oberoi Realty was adopted on 22 October 2009, to clarify the exact nature of business and operations. Immediately thereafter, the company became a "Public Limited" entity and consequently, the name was changed to Oberoi Realty Limited. [7]

Oberoi Garden City, the flagship project was developed in Goregaon East on an 80-acre land parcel. The company had acquired the land parcel in February 2002. By 2005, Oberoi Realty expanded into Andheri (West & East) and Mulund (West). [8] Besides developing real estate Oberoi Realty developed and completed a hospitality project, The Westin Mumbai - Garden City based on an operating agreement model. The hotel building (including fixtures and fittings) is owned by Oberoi Realty whereas the operations are handled by Marriott International under the Westin Hotels & Resorts brand. The hotel has been operational since May 2010. [9]

The Vikhroli-Kopar Khairne Link Road (VKLR), also known as the JVLR-Kopar Khairane-Ghansoli Bridge, is a proposed 7.5 km to 10 km, freeway grade road bridge connecting the Indian city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. The new link road would start at Eastern Express Highway (EEH) where Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) ends in Vikhroli, then cross Thane Creek and Harbour railway line and will terminate at Kopar Khairane in Navi Mumbai before ending on Thane- Belapur road. The link would be a six-lane road of about 10 km in length including a 2-kilometre-long (1.2 mi) bridge over the Thane creek. At present motorists have to take either the Vashi Bridge or Mulund-Airoli Link Road to go to Navi Mumbai and Pune. The new road will help motorists save time and fuel. The project is estimated to cost around ₹ 550 to 1200 crore. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) appointed N P Bridging, as designing consultants for the project, which was supposed to submit the final report on the link road by mid-September 2016.

GIPCL Vadodara Gas based Power Station is Gas turbine based combined cycle power plant. It is located at Dhanora village in Vadodara, Gujarat. The power plant is run by state-owned Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation Limited (GIPCL). The primary electricity generation is through the Gas turbines. Waste heat from the gas turbine is recovered by a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) to power a conventional steam turbine. The HRSG recovers heat from a hot gas stream and produces steam, the steam utilized to power the steam turbines.
