The Twelve Chairs is a classic satirical picaresque novel by the Soviet authors Ilf and Petrov, published in 1928. Its plot follows characters attempting to obtain jewelry hidden in a chair. A sequel was published in 1931. The novel has been adapted to other media, primarily film.
Anatoli Dmitriyevich Papanov was a Soviet and Russian actor, drama teacher, and theatre director at the Moscow Satire Theatre where he served for almost 40 years. A prominent character actor, Papanov is mostly remembered for his comedy roles in a duo with his friend Andrei Mironov, although he had many dramatic roles as well. As a voice actor he contributed to over hundred cartoons. He was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1973 and awarded the USSR State Prize posthumously.
Alexander Igorevich Rybak or Alyaksandr Iharavich Rybak is a Belarusian-Norwegian singer-composer, violinist, pianist, author and actor. Based in Oslo, Norway, Rybak extensively worked on television programs and on tours in Europe, particularly in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe throughout the early 2010s. Performing in English, Russian and Norwegian, Rybak held on to a teen idol status in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and to a certain extent in Western Asia in his early twenties.
Norway participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Fairytale" written and performed by Alexander Rybak. The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2009 in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 2009 contest in Moscow, Russia. 21 entries competed in the national final that consisted of three semi-finals, a Last Chance round and a final. Eight entries ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 21 February 2009 where the winner was determined over two rounds of voting. In the first round of voting, a public televote exclusively selected the top four entries to advance to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of voting, "Fairytale" performed by Alexander Rybak was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from four regional jury groups and a public televote.

The Maltese entry for the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden was selected through the national final Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013, organised by the Maltese broadcaster Public Broadcasting Services (PBS). The competition consisted of a semi-final round and a final, held on 1 and 2 February 2013, respectively, where "Tomorrow" performed by Gianluca eventually emerged as the winning entry after scoring the most points from a seven-member jury and a public televote.
Archil Mikhaylovich Gomiashvili was a Soviet Georgian theatre and film actor best known for his part of Ostap Bender in Leonid Gaidai's 1971 adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's The Twelve Chairs. In the late 1980s Gomiashvili quit the stage to become a businessman, the Ostap Bender Club owner, and philanthropist.
Yuri Dmitriyevich Sarantsev was a Soviet and Russian actor who appeared in numerous films between 1950 and 1999. He is most known for the 1962 sci-fi film Planeta Bur. I Am a Singer is a Chinese version of the Korean reality show I Am a Singer and it is broadcast on Hunan Television. The show's first season premiered on January 18, 2013. The competitions was divided into five rounds, and the final phase having three episodes which was not included in the Korean version, giving the series a total of 13 episodes. Each round features seven singers performing in front of 500 public audiences to judge. The first episode of each round doesn't has any singer eliminated, but subsequent episodes will eliminate one singer, which was decided on which singers received a lower count of votes, while a new singer will substitute the eliminated singer in the following episode.
