"Off Guard" is a song by Albanian singer Elvana Gjata featuring American singer Ty Dolla Sign. Sony under exclusive license from East Music Matters (EMM) released it as a single for digital download and streaming on 6 April 2018.
Elvana Gjata wrote the song alongside Ty Dolla Sign, Dominic Jordan, Jimmy Giannos and Poo Bear. The production was handled by the latter and The Audibles. [1] [2] [3] Josh Gudwin and Chris G were additionally hired for the song's mixing and mastering process. [4] [5] The song was released as a single through Sony Music under exclusive license from East Music Matters. It is a dance-pop recording incorporating electronic and R&B influences into its sound. The song is entirely performed in the English language, constituting Gjata's second single in the respective language.
The accompanying music video for the "Off Guard" was announced to be released on 1 April 2018 by a teaser uploaded on Gjata's Facebook profile though it was premiered onto Gjata's YouTube channel simultaneously with the song's release on 6 April 2018. Elvana Gjata is an Albanian singer-songwriter, actress and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Tirana, she has been referred to as a "Diva of Albanian music". She rose to recognition in Albania and other Albanian-speaking territories in the Balkans following the release of her two studio albums, Mamës (2007) and Afër dhe larg (2011). The singer saw further success through many acclaimed singles, as well as her extended plays 3 (2018) and Çelu (2021), and has achieved multiple number one singles in the Albanian singles chart. Gjata has also received numerous awards and accolades, including two Balkan Music Awards, a Festivali i Këngës Award, four Kënga Magjike Awards and a Top Fest Award.
"Afër dhe Larg" is a song recorded by Albanian singer and songwriter Elvana Gjata released as the lead single from her second studio album, Afër dhe Larg (2011). The song was entirely written and composed by Albanian musician Flori Mumajesi.
