Ohio's 1st senatorial district

Ohio's 1st senatorial district has historically represented areas located in northwestern Ohio. A multi-county district, it currently comprises the counties Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, Henry, Williams, Defiance, Paulding, and Van Wert and portions of the counties Fulton, Logan, and Auglaize. It encompasses Ohio House districts 81, 82 and 83. It has a Cook PVI of R+11. The current Ohio Senator is Republican Rob McColley. He resides in Napoleon, Ohio, a city located in Henry County.

Louis "Lou" Gentile is an American politician formerly serving as the senator for the 30th District of the Ohio Senate. He was also previously a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, serving briefly in 2011 prior to his appointment to the Senate. His district is one of the largest in Ohio, stretching from Carrollton, Ohio to Athens, Ohio and encompassing much of the Ohio Valley. Gentile served as Assistant Minority Whip in the Ohio Senate. He is a Democrat. Gentile lost his 2016 Senate re-election bid to Frank Hoagland.

Ohio's 7th senatorial district has consisted of portions of southwestern Ohio, and currently consists of Warren County and portions of the counties of Butler and Hamilton. It encompasses Ohio House districts 27, 54 and 62. It has a Cook PVI of R+15. The district was represented by the Senate President from 1997 to 2002 with Senator Richard Finan. Ohio's 21st senatorial district has historically been based in urban Cleveland, Ohio, and consists primarily of Cleveland's West Side neighborhoods of Ohio City and Tremont; Downtown Cleveland; all of Cleveland's East Side neighborhoods; and the cities of Bratenahl, Cleveland Heights, and Shaker Heights. It encompasses Ohio House districts 9, 10 and 11. It has a Cook PVI of D+33.

Robert A. McColley is a state senator for the 1st District of the Ohio Senate, which includes Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Williams counties, as well as parts of Auglaize, Fulton, and Logan counties. McColley graduated from Napoleon High School (Ohio) in 2003 and then went on to attend Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance. He then attended the University of Toledo College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2010.
