Ohrid Fest

Ohridski Trubaduri - Ohrid Fest is a music festival that takes place in Ohrid, North Macedonia every summer. It began in 1994 as a showcase for Macedonian summer folklore.

Contents

In 1997, a pop evening was introduced to motivate Macedonian lyricists and composers, as well as artists. In 2003, an international evening was added to the program, which consists of foreign artists performing their songs along with the best placed songs from the pop evening. The festival has become prominent within the Balkan region which led to its broadcast in different countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Greece. The winners of the festival are awarded with a monetary prize as well as promotional products from the sponsors. In 2008, a fourth night was added to the festival in which amateur or unrecognized singers would compete to qualify for the pop evening.

Dejan Milićević, is a Serbian music video director and fashion photographer that has directed many music videos for many famous ex-Yugoslav musicians. He has also photographed many models, some of which were used as part of the Joni Peci collection. He had also photographed popular turbo-folk singer Svetlana "Ceca" Ražnatović, which were featured in an issue of the local Playboy magazine.

Igor Cukrov is a Croatian singer-songwriter, musician and television personality. He came to media attention as one of sixteen contestants of talents show Operacija trijumf, Balkan version of Endemol's Star Academy. Cukrov represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, alongside Andrea Šušnjara, with the song "Lijepa Tena", written by Tonči Huljić. The song qualified to the final from the second semi-final as the jury's selected qualifier. It eventually finished in the 18th place with 45 points.

Macedonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Rusinka" written by Grigor Koprov, Jovan Jovanov, Vladimir Dojčinovski and Marko Marinković. The song was performed by Vlatko Ilievski. The Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) organised Skopje Fest 2011 in order to select the Macedonian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Twenty entries competed in the competition on 27 February 2011 where "Rusinka" performed by Vlatko Ilievski was selected following the combination of votes from a fifteen-member jury panel and a public televote.

Vodolija is a Macedonian rock band formed in 1989 that officially started in 1991 when they had their first official appearance on Pop-Rock Fest 1991 and recorded the first official single in the studio M2 of the Macedonian Radio Television. They released three studio albums and participated three times in the Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song, Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song (Solza) and Macedonian Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song. Robert Vukelić is a Macedonian pop singer. He started his musical career in 2007. He has collaborated with several Macedonian composers, such as a Grigor Koprov, Risto Apostolov from Vodolija, Jovan Jovanov, Elvir Mekic, Hari Kotlaroski and Silvi Band.

Macedonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Pred da se razdeni" written by Darko Dimitrov, Lazar Cvetkoski, Simeon Atanasov and Magdalena Cvetkoska. The song was performed by Esma and Lozano, which were internally selected by the Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) to compete for Macedonia at the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. Esma and Lozano's appointment as the Macedonian representatives were announced on 29 December 2012, while their song, "Imperija", was presented to the public in a television special on 27 February 2013. "Imperija" was later withdrawn due to negative reactions from the public and replaced with the song "Pred da se razdeni", which was presented to the public on 15 March 2013.

<i>Makedonsko Devojče 2</i> 2014 studio album by Karolina Gočeva

Makedonsko Devojče 2 is the eighth studio album by Macedonian singer Karolina Gočeva released on 25 February 2014. Avalon Production launched the album in Macedonia, while Croatian label Dallas Records released it throughout former Yugoslav countries in April 2015. The album consists of eight original songs written by Valentin Soklevski and Vesna Malinova; the arrangement and production were completed by Nikola Micevski and Dejan Momirovski. Except for those eight songs, two cover versions are also included, one of them being of a Macedonian traditional song and the other one of a record originally performed by Macedonian singer Pepi Baftirovski. For Gočeva, the motivation to record the album came from the critical and commercial success of her previous project inspired by the Macedonian traditional music, Makedonsko Devojče (2008).

Risto Samardžiev is a Macedonian singer and songwriter. He started his musical career when he was 16 years old. He formed the Cilindar group in 1981, which was one of the first New Wave rock bands in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. He was also the frontman of New Romantic group Haos in Laos.
