Ohrid Fest

Ohridski Trubaduri - Ohrid Fest is a music festival that takes place in Ohrid, North Macedonia every summer. It began in 1994 as a showcase for Macedonian summer folklore. In 1997, a pop evening was introduced to motivate Macedonian lyricists and composers, as well as artists. In 2003, an international evening was added to the program, which consists of foreign artists performing their songs along with the best placed songs from the pop evening. The festival has become prominent within the Balkan region which led to its broadcast in different countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Greece. The winners of the festival are awarded with a monetary prize as well as promotional products from the sponsors.

In 2008, a fourth night was added to the festival in which amateur or unrecognized singers would compete to qualify for the pop evening. The Ohrid Summer Festival is a festival founded on 4 August 1961, always taking place between 12 July and 20 August in the city of Ohrid, North Macedonia. [1] It is financed by the Ministry of Culture of North Macedonia and sponsors. The President of North Macedonia is the patron of the festival. The festival featured prominent artists since 1961, i.e. José Carreras. Since 1994, the festival is a member of the European Festivals Association.Many world-renowned musicians like Leonid Kogan, Svyatoslav Richter, Grigory Sokolov, Andre Navarra, Martina Arroyo, Henryk Szeryng, Ivo Pogorelić, Mstislav Rostropovich, Aldo Ciccolini, Gidon Kremer, Ruggiero Ricci, Viktor Tretiakov, Salvatore Accardo, Elena Obraztsova, Katia Ricciarelli, Victoria de los Ángeles, Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Julian Rachlin, Michel Camilo, Paul Meyer, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Leo Nucci, Barbara Frittoli, Jessye Norman, Nigel Kennedy, Zubin Mehta, Ennio Morricone, Mikhail Pletnev, [2] and many other have performed at Ohridski Leto.

Vlatko Lozanoski - Lozano (born June 27, 1985) is a Macedonian singer from Kičevo, Macedonia. Together with Esma Redžepova, he represented Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden.

Vodolija is a Macedonian rock band formed in 1989 that officially started in 1991 when they had their first official appearance on Pop-Rock Fest 1991 and recorded the first official single in the studio M2 of the Macedonian Radio Television. <i>Makedonsko Devojče 2</i> 2014 studio album by Karolina Gočeva

Makedonsko Devojče 2 is the eighth studio album by Macedonian singer Karolina Gočeva released on 25 February 2014. Avalon Production launched the album in Macedonia, while Croatian label Dallas Records released it throughout former Yugoslav countries in April 2015. The album consists of eight original songs written by Valentin Soklevski and Vesna Malinova; the arrangement and production were completed by Nikola Micevski and Dejan Momirovski. Except for those eight songs, two cover versions are also included, one of them being of a Macedonian traditional song and the other one of a record originally performed by Macedonian singer Pepi Baftiroski. For Gočeva, the motivation to record the album came from the critical and commercial success of her previous project inspired by the Macedonian traditional music, Makedonsko Devojče (2008).

Risto Samardžiev, born 17 August 1964 in Skopje, is a Macedonian singer and songwriter. He started his musical career when he was 16 years old. He formed the Cilindar group in 1981, which was one of the first New Wave rock bands in Macedonia. He was also the frontman of New Romantic group Haos in Laos. In 1987 he was invited to perform on MakFest, the largest music festival in the country. The song he performed, Chilli Willi then became a hit in Macedonia. After that performance he continued to work independently, appearing in festivals as well as in bands He has won MakFest four times as a performer, and has also written songs for other singers. In 2009 he won the pop night of Ohrid Fest in a duet with Vlatko Ilievski titled 'Za ljubov se pee do kraj.' He has also participated multiple times at the Macedonian national preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest.
