Olav Molenaar (born 28 March 1999) is a Dutch rower. He competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning a silver medal in the men's eight.

Early and personal life

From Zaandam, he started rowing at his local club ZZV Zaandam at a young age. He later moved to Het Spaarne. His father Johan, mother Joy and sister Myrrith are all active members of the Zaanse club. [2] He attended the University of California, Berkeley. [3]

Career

He won a silver medal in the coxless four at the 2023 European Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia. [4]

He won a silver medal in the men's eight at the 2023 World Rowing Championships in Belgrade. [5]

He competed in the men's eight at the 2024 Summer Olympics, winning the silver medal. [6] [7]

Erik Horrie is an Australian wheelchair basketball player and a five-time world champion rower. He was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team. Switching to rowing in 2011, he made an immediate impact in the sport, first winning the NSW State Rowing Championships and then the National Rowing Championships in Adelaide. He has won silver medals at the 2012, 2016, 2020 Summer Paralympics and a bronze at the 2024 Summer Paralympics. He won gold medals at the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 World Rowing Championships. Horrie has selected for the 2024 Paris Paralympics - his fourth Games.

Spencer Alf Turrin is an Australian representative rower. He is a national champion, twice world champion, a dual Olympian and an Olympic champion. He competed and won medals in the Australian senior men's coxless four at every World Rowing Championship from 2013 to 2018, culminating in consecutive world championship gold at Sarasota 2017 and 2018 Plovdiv. He rowed in the two seat of the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.

Lucas Theodoor Dirk Uittenbogaard is a Dutch representative rower. He is a European champion, an Olympic gold and bronze medallist and is the reigning world champion in the men's quad scull won at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. He won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2015 World Rowing Championships and competed in the men's eight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, winning a bronze medal. In the Dutch men's quad scull at Tokyo 2020 he won an Olympic gold medal and set a new world's best time for that event.

Jessica Morrison is an Australian representative rower and dual Olympian. She is an Australian national champion and won two silver medals at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. She competed in the Australian women's eight at the 2016 Summer Olympics and in two boats at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics doubling-up in the coxless pair and the coxless four. In the four at the Tokyo 2020 she won a gold medal and became an Olympic champion.

Karolien Florijn is a Dutch rower. She was a member of the Dutch coxless four, along with Ellen Hogerwerf, Ymkje Clevering and Veronique Meester, that won an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo 2020. The same crew was a three-time European Champion and won a silver medal at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. Florijn returned to the single sculls in 2022, winning the overall World Rowing Cup trophy and winning the gold medal at the European Championships in Munich. She won the single sculls event at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games.

Guillaume Krommenhoek is a Dutch rower. After he quit his American Football career he started rowing in 2015 at students rowing association A.A.S.R. Skoll. He competed in the men's coxless pair at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Currently he is the stroke of the men's eight that won a silver medal at the 2022 World Rowing Championships. He is preparing to compete in his second consecutive Olympics in Paris in 2024.
