Olisa Metuh // ( 
listen ) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician, he was the Former National Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party from 2012 to 2016. [1] [2]
Chief Olisa Metuh was born at Otolo, Nnewi North, in Anambra State, southeastern Nigeria. [3] He obtained a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1988. [4] He began his law career at Olisianunba Chambers, a law firm owned by his father. In 1990, he established a partnership firm called Metuh, Okafor & Associates, where he served as the managing solicitor. [5] In 1991, he was appointed as the chairman of Legend Properties Limited, a property management firm. [6] He later registered as an Investment Adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). [7] In 1996, he established a Law Firm, Olisa Metuh and Co, to provide services in legal practice, real estate and share acquisitions. [8] [9]
He began his political career as the coordinator of the Igbo United Congress. [10] While serving in that capacity, he was also a member of the finance committee of People's National Forum (PNF). [11] He served as a pioneer member of the national finance committee of the People's Democratic Party. [12] In November 1999, at the first National Convention of the PDP, he was elected as ex officio member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party. [13] He later acted as the secretary of the National Peace and Reconciliatory Committee of the party for two years. [14] In 2002, he was appointed as the chairman of the Cross River State Electoral Panel. [15] He was later appointed as member of the People's Democratic Party constitution review panel. [16] In 2006, he became the chairman of Abia State electoral panel and also took part in the supervision of all the primaries in Abia State. [17] In 2007, he was appointed as national auditor and member of the party's National Working Committee (NWC) [18] He was later elected as the national vice chairman of the Party for Southeast zone. [19] [20] He served as the national publicity secretary of the People's Democratic Party between 2013 and 2015 when the party lost federal power to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC. On 5 January 2016, Olisa Metuh was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), [23] answering questions regarding some fund (Arms Deal) said to have been traced to his firm. [24]
”From the records, Metuh got over N400 million, he has not said anything because we need the public money to be returned so that it’s going to be used for public good,” Mr. Magu said during a meeting with online media publishers in Lagos. [25]
On 5 February 2018, Olisa Metuh arrived at the Federal high court in Abuja in an ambulance. [26] He was absent when the case was heard the previous week.

Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a senator of the 8th and 9th National Assembly. He was sacked shortly after being announced senator elect during the 2019 general elections by a Federal High Court in Abuja as Senator-elect on allegations that he was not validly elected by his political party. The Appeal Court in Abuja however overturned the decision on 30 May 2019. The lead judge held that the Federal High Court that nullified his election had no jurisdiction over the case.

Incumbent PDP Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term. Former commissioner Umo Eno held the office for the PDP by a 34% margin over first runner-up and YPP nominee — Senator Bassey Albert Akpan.

The 2023 Nigerian presidential election was held on 25 February 2023 to elect the president and Vice President of Nigeria. Bola Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and nominee of the All Progressives Congress, won the disputed election with 36.61% of the vote, 8,794,726 total votes. Runners-up were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party, and former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, Labour Party, who both immediately contested the result; Obi claimed he won. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, held on the same date while state elections were scheduled to hold two weeks afterward on 11 March, but were postponed by a week and was held on 18 March. The inauguration was held on 29 May 2023.
