John Oliver Macdonald was an American athlete, winner of gold medal in 4 × 400 m relay at the 1924 Summer Olympics.
Charles John Grimm, nicknamed "Jolly Cholly", was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a first baseman, most notably for the Chicago Cubs; he was also a sometime radio sports commentator, and a popular goodwill ambassador for baseball. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates early in his career, but was traded to the Cubs in 1925 and worked mostly for the Cubs for the rest of his career. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Grimm was known for being outgoing and chatty, even singing old-fashioned songs while accompanying himself on a left-handed banjo.

After retiring from competitions she worked as a physiotherapist at her own clinic.
Solomon Islands sent a delegation to compete in the Olympic Games for the first time at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States from 28 July to 12 August 1984. The delegation consisted of three athletes: track and field competitors Charlie Oliver and Johnson Kere, and weightlifter Leslie Ata. Kere took part in the men'[s 100 metres and Oliver was an entrant in the men's 800 metres. Neither of the track and field athletes advanced beyond their heats, and Ata placed 16th in the men's lightweight event.

Mary Olive McKean, also known by her married name Olive Mucha, was an American competition swimmer and swimming coach. McKean represented the United States at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. She won a bronze medal as a member of the third-place U.S. team in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. Individually, she finished sixth in the 100-meter freestyle. McKean won the AAU 100 m freestyle titles in 1934 and 1935.

Oliver won the national triple jump title in 1953–54 and 1956, and the long jump title in 1953 and 1956. He was ranked #3 in the world in 1950 and #4 in 1953 in the triple jump.

She was chosen an NCAA All-American for outdoor track, indoor track and cross-country (2011). She competed in the 3000 m at the 2014 World Indoor Championships. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, she competed in the 1500 m and the 5000 m.
