The jaguar is a large cat species and the only living member of the genus Panthera that is native to the Americas. With a body length of up to 1.85 m and a weight of up to 158 kg (348 lb),it is the biggest cat species in the Americas and the third largest in the world. Its distinctively marked coat features pale yellow to tan colored fur covered by spots that transition to rosettes on the sides,although a melanistic black coat appears in some individuals. The jaguar's powerful bite allows it to pierce the carapaces of turtles and tortoises,and to employ an unusual killing method:it bites directly through the skull of mammalian prey between the ears to deliver a fatal blow to the brain.

Vision Inspired by the People (VIP) is a political party established in December 2005 in the Cayo District of Belize. VIP operates primarily in Belmopan,but also has a presence in the Belize and Corozal Districts.

Wilfred Peter "Sedi" Elrington is a Belizean politician who has been the Foreign Minister of Belize since 2008.
John Birchman Saldivar is a Belizean politician. A member of the United Democratic Party,Saldivar has represented the Belmopan constituency in the Belize House of Representatives from its creation in 2008 until his defeat in the 2020 general election. He was previously Area Representative for Cayo South.
Elvin Penner is a Belizean politician who served in the House of Representatives from 2008 to 2015 representing the Cayo North East constituency. He is a member of the United Democratic Party. Penner was the first Belizean Mennonite elected to national office.
General elections were held in Belize on 4 November 2015 to elect members of the House of Representatives. General elections were held in Belize on 11 November 2020 to elect the 31 members of the House of Representatives. Nomination day was 21 October.
Lisel Alamilla is a conservationist and politician from Belize. In 2012,Alamilla was appointed as a senator and member of the Belize Cabinet as Minister of Forestry,Fisheries &Sustainable Development. She served until 2015. Alamilla won the 2012 Whitley Award for Inspirational Conservational Leadership.
