Omni is a Swedish news aggregator service developed by Schibsted. [1] It presents a continuous flow of news from Swedish and international media, social media, live broadcasts and press releases. Omni is available as an app on Android, iOS, and the Web. A subscription is required to read some articles. [2]
Schibsted released a beta version in March 2013 and the official app in November 2013. [3] [4]
The development of the service began in November 2011. [5]
In 2015, founders Markus Gustafsson and Ian Vännman were nominated for the Stora Journalistpriset annual award as "Innovator of the Year". [6]
In November 2017, the service Omni Ekonomi was released as an app. Omni Ekonomi has its own editorial staff that summarizes news from business media, and monitors market developments. [7] By June 2020, Omni Ekonomi was relaunched as a premium service and had entered collaboration with several international business media platforms, such as the Financial Times , The Economist , Bloomberg and Nikkei .
Omni introduced Omni mer in February 2022, an additional service that opens paywalls of certain international media, by paying for a monthly fee. Omni mer provides an explanatory background to specific news events. [2]
As of today, Omni's own in-house developed publishing platform is being used by several media platforms within the Schibsted media group, including Svenska Dagbladet , Aftonbladet , Verdens Gang and Aftenposten . [8]
Aftonbladet is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries.
Marie Eleonor Serneholt is a Swedish singer and model. She was a member of the Swedish pop band A*Teens from 1998 to 2004, and briefly pursued a solo recording career after the band dissolved.
TNT was a commercial television channel in Sweden. The channel was launched by the tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet as Aftonbladet TV7 on 9 October 2006. Aftonbladet sold the channel in late 2007. In August 2008, it was sold once again and is since owned by NonStop Television. On 2 March 2011 the channel was relaunched as TNT7, following Turner Broadcasting System's purchase of Millennium Media Group, the owner of NonStop Television. The channel is now called TNT since the seven was dropped from the name on 21 March 2012.
Metro was a free daily newspaper in Sweden. It was printed in four editions: Stockholm, Gothenburg, Skåne and National, which were distributed in 67 towns and cities throughout the country. The paper was the first European free paper. On 8 August 2019, its cancellation was announced.

Sven Bergman is a Swedish investigative reporter/producer for the current affairs show "Uppdrag granskning" on SVT.
TV4 Newsmill was a Swedish website for "news commentary and debate". Debate was opened to the public on 3 September 2008. It was operated at that time by Peter Magnus Nilsson, Leo Lagercrantz and Karen Eder Ekman, who had previously worked at Expressen and Aftonbladet. Ekman has been succeeded by Sakine Madon and Annika Nordgren Christensen. Newsmill was owned by the Bonnier Group, a giant media conglomerate, Proventus, an investment group, Nelson and Lagercrantz. There are links to other mainstream media, since Bonnier also own Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and Résumé, which frequently comment on opinion articles in Newsmill. Expressen also published, every Sunday, a summary of the debates on Newsmill. The site was shut down in June 2013.
Anna Carolina Neurath is a Swedish journalist and writer. She specializes in writing business articles for the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. In 2016 her first work of fiction, Fartblinda, was published.

Tom Hardy Alandh, is a Swedish journalist and documentary director. Alandh studied journalism between 1969 and 1970. In 1972 he began working for SVT as a reporter and producer. Since 1981 he has produced close to one hundred documentary films for Swedish public service television. He rose to prominence with his 1987 breakthrough TV documentary about the rise and fall of soccer star Nacka Skoglund. In 1987 Alandh was awarded the Stora journalistpriset. In 2011 he received an honourable award at the television gala Kristallen.
On 22 October 2015, 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson attacked Kronan School in Trollhättan, Sweden, with a sword. He killed a teaching assistant and a male student, stabbed another male student and a teacher, and died later of the gunshot wounds he received during his apprehension. The second teacher who was wounded died in the hospital six weeks after the attack, on 3 December.
Lena Maria Mellin, is a Swedish journalist and domestic policy commentator for Aftonbladet. She has earlier been the news director at the same paper. Mellin was awarded Publicistklubben The Great Journalist Award in 1996. Two years later in 1998 she was awarded the Lukas Bonnier Great Journalist Award. Mellin is also a recurring domestic policy commentator and writer for other media, amongst others in the book Makten framför allt, an anthology about Göran Persson.
Magda Gad is a Swedish war correspondent and Middle Eastern analyst who writes, photographs and films her stories. She has been a correspondent for the Swedish media outlet Expressen since 2015. Gad came to international prominence in June 2016 by covering the assault on Mosul in Iraq, where she reported the war against ISIS.
Negra Efendić is a Swedish journalist and author. She was born in Bosnia and grew up in the town of Brezovo Polje. She and her family fled the Bosnian War and came to Sweden in 1993. She studied to become a journalist at Bona folkhögskola in Motala and started working for Borås Tidning in 2006. In 2007, she started working for Svenska Dagbladet, where she now covers immigration and integration issues after covering the Swedish labor market for several years. In May 2016, Efendić published her first book, the autobiographical Jag var precis som du. The book consists of three parts: In the first part, she depicts her life in rural Brezovo Polje in the northeast part of Bosnia, near the Croatian border; The second part is about her refuge to Croatia and then Sweden, and her first years in the country; the third part takes place in present Stockholm, and depicts her life as a journalist.
