Onyū (遠敷郡, Onyū-gun) was a district located in the Wakasa Region of Fukui Prefecture, Japan until 2005.

The time before the dissolution, the district had an area of 143.83 km2 with an estimated population of 2,747 with an area of 1,088 and a density of 49.08 persons per km2. The total area is 225.91 km2. [1]

Wakasa Wan Quasi-National Park is a Quasi-National Park in Fukui and Kyōto Prefectures, Japan. Established in 1955, the central feature of the park is the ria coast of Wakasa Bay. In 2005 an area of 11 km2 (4.2 sq mi) of wetland in the Mikata Lakes was designated a Ramsar Site.
