Oshikango is a constituency in the town of Helao Nafidi in the Ohangwena Region of northern Namibia, on the border to Angola. It had 27,599 inhabitants in 2004 [1] and 17,480 registered voters in 2020 [update] . [2] It is named after the settlement of Oshikango, today part of the town Helao Nafidi.
As is common in all constituencies of former Owamboland, Namibia's ruling SWAPO Party has dominated elections since independence.
The first councillor of Oshikango Constituency was SWAPO politician Michael Hishikushitja. He was elected to represent Ohangwena region in the National Council of Namibia and served in both positions until his death in 2001. [3]
SWAPO also won the 2015 regional election by a landslide. Its candidate Fillippus Namundjebo gathered 6,023 votes, while the opposition candidates Timotheus Shikongo of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and Gabriel Shikudule of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), received 451 and 172 votes, respectively. [4] SWAPO also won the 2020 regional election. Its candidate Ester Nghidimbwa received 4,782 votes, far ahead of Timotheus Shikongo of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), an opposition party formed in August 2020, who obtained 980 votes. Ohangwena is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Eenhana. Major settlements in the region are the towns Eenhana and Helao Nafidi aa well as the self-governed village of Okongo. As of 2020, Ohangwena had 150,724 registered voters.
Arandis is a constituency in the Erongo Region of central-eastern Namibia. It had a population of 10,093 in 2011, an increase from 7,590 in 2001. As of 2020, the constituency had 8,888 registered voters.
Keetmanshoop Rural is an electoral constituency in the ǁKaras Region of Namibia. It contains the Krönlein suburb of Keetmanshoop and the villages of Koës and Aroab, the settlements of Seeheim and Klein Karas, as well as several farming communities in the area. The constituency office is situated in Aroab. It had a populations of 7,219 in 2011, up from 6,399 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 6,398 registered voters.
Oshikango is a former village in northern Namibia and since 2004 part of the town of Helao Nafidi, although it still maintained its own village council for a number of years. Oshikango is still the name of the border post with Angola and the electoral constituency for this suburb. It is estimated to have grown from "a tiny cluster of shebeens around an open market into a thriving boomtown with around 5,000 to 8,000 inhabitants over a period of 10 years".
Sesfontein Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Kunene Region of Namibia. Its district capital is the settlement of Sesfontein. The constituency had a population of 7,358 in 2004. As of 2020, it has 5,614 registered voters.
Eenhana is an electoral constituency in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia, on the border to Angola. It had 24,193 inhabitants in 2004 and 15,912 registered voters in 2020. The district centre is the town of Eenhana.

The district centre is the settlement of Endola. Ferdinand Ingashipola Shifidi became a councillor of the constituency in November 2014 and was re-elected in 2015 and in 2020.
Engela is an electoral constituency in the Ohangwena Region of northern Namibia. It had 21,341 inhabitants in 2004 and 13,743 registered voters in 2020. It is named after the settlement of Engela, today part of the town Helao Nafidi. Engela is home to one of the biggest hospitals in Namibia, Engela State Hospital.

It has been established in 2004 as an amalgamation of several villages and settlements along the main road between Oshikango and Ohangwena which are both also part of the town. Helao Nafidi has 19,375 inhabitants. The town is separated into three urban areas, Oshikango in the north, bisected by the Namibian–Angolan border, and Omafo and Ohangwena south of it, with settlements and villages in the agricultural area between them.
Rundu Rural is an electoral constituency in the Kavango East Region of Namibia. It comprises the area east of Rundu, one of Namibia's largest cities. It had a population of 22,538 in 2011, up from 18,250 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 6,060 registered voters.
Nehale IyaMpingana Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia, named after Nehale lya Mpingana, one of Namibia's National Heroes. It was created in August 2013, following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election. The administrative centre of Nehale lyaMpingana is the settlement of Okoloti. As of 2020 the constituency had 5,879 registered voters.
