Marina[maˈɾina] or Malintzin[maˈlintsin], more popularly known as La Malinche[la maˈlintʃe], a Nahua woman from the Mexican Gulf Coast, became known for contributing to the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire (1519–1521), by acting as an interpreter, advisor, and intermediary for the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés. She was one of 20 enslaved women given to the Spaniards in 1519 by the natives of Tabasco. Cortés chose her as a consort, and she later gave birth to his first son, Martín – one of the first Mestizos in New Spain.

He was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes and has additionally played for the Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The first racer down the course usually has to scrape off a bit of snow, which slows you down. But Ossi had a great run and overcame that difficulty."

Ossian Olavi "Ossi" Blomqvist was a Finnish speed skater who won two silver medals at the European all-around championships in 1931 and 1932. He competed over various distances at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Winter Olympics with the best results of fifth-sixth place in the 5000 m and 10000 m events in 1936. He served as the flag bearer for Finland at the 1932 games. At the world all-around championships Blomqvist placed fifth and seventh in 1931 and 1932, respectively.
The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.
The women's giant slalom at the 1956 Winter Olympics was held on 27 January in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It was run on the Canalone run on Mount Tofana. Oskari Viljami Kumpu was a Finnish wrestler and a military officer. He competed in the light heavyweight event at the 1912 Summer Olympics. In the 1918 Finnish Civil War, Kumpu fought for the Red Guards. After the war, he fled to Soviet Russia and joined the Red Army.

Ari Juhani Salin is a Finnish former hurdler and sprinter. Salin set Finnish records in both the 110 metres hurdles and the 400 metres hurdles and competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics.
Ossi Teileri was a Finnish middle-distance runner. He competed in the men's 1500 metres at the 1936 Summer Olympics.
