Otto Vonlaufen (born 21 November 1928) was a Swiss rower. [1] He competed in the men's eight event at the 1948 Summer Olympics. [2]

Otto was also the first woman to swim the short course 100 meter backstroke in under a minute, doing so at an international short course meet at Indiana University in 1983.

Otto John Jelinek is a businessman, former figure skater, and Canadian politician. Jelinek's family fled to Switzerland, then to Canada from Czechoslovakia in 1948, following the Communist coup d'état when communists nationalized his father's cork and aluminium caps factory. Dr. Otto Herschmann was an Austrian Jewish swimmer, fencer, lawyer, and sports official. He is one of only a few athletes who have won Olympic medals in multiple sports, having received a silver medal in swimming in 1896 and a silver medal in fencing in 1912. He also worked as a lawyer, and served as president of the Austrian Olympic Committee and the Austrian Swimming Federation. Herschmann was murdered by the Nazis in 1942 during The Holocaust.

Otto Weiß was a German pair skater. Weiß became the German pair champion in 1932 and 1933 with his partner Wally Hempel. At their only major international competition, the 1935 World Championships, they were fourth. Weiß represented Germany at the 1936 Winter Olympics with a new partner, Eva Prawitz. Together, they were the German pair champions in 1937. In 1938, he competed with a third partner, Gisela Grätz, and placed 3rd at the German nationals. They went on to compete at the 1939 European Championships, where they were sixth.
