Owa-Oyibu is a community of the Ika speaking people of Delta State, Nigeria. It is the headquarters of Ika North East. It borders Agbor, Abavo and Boji Boji Owa. The king of Owa-Oyibu is His Royal Majesty, Obi, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11. [1] [2] [3] He became the 11th Efeizomor in September 1959. [4]
Delta State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named after the Niger Delta—a large part of which is in the state—the state was formed from the former Bendel State, on 27 August 1991. Bordered on the north by Edo State, the east by Anambra and Rivers states, and that south by Bayelsa State while to the west is the Bight of Benin which covers about 160 kilometres of the state's coastline. The state was initially created with 12 local government areas in 1991, but was later expanded to 19 and now has 25 local government areas. Its capital city is Asaba which is located along the River Niger on the northeastern end of the state, while the state's economic center is the city of Warri on the southwestern coastline.
Ilesa is a historic city located in Osun State, southwest Nigeria; it is also the name of a historic kingdom centred on that town. The state is ruled by a monarch bearing the title of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland. The state of Ilesa consists of Ilesa itself and a number of smaller surrounding cities.
The Anioma people are Igbo and Minority of Igala People-groups predominantly indigenous to present day Delta State, Nigeria, along with communities in Edo State. The Anioma people encompass and are native to the nine northeastern Local Government Areas of Delta State and the Ika-Igbo communities of Edo State. Politically, the Anioma occupy the Delta North Senatorial District where they are the majority group.
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a federal government agency established by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000, with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria. In September 2008, President Umaru Yar'Adua announced the formation of a Niger Delta Ministry, with the Niger Delta Development Commission to become a parastatal under the ministry. One of the core mandates of the commission is to train and educate the youths of the oil rich Niger Delta regions to curb hostilities and militancy, while developing key infrastructure to promote economic diversification and productivity.

Anti-Igbo sentiment encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings towards the Igbo people. The Igbo people make up a majority of the population in South East, Nigeria and part of the populations of the South South and the Middle Belt zones. Igbophobia can be observed in critical and hostile behaviour such as political and religious discrimination as well as violence towards Igbo people.
The Ika people are found primarily in Delta State Nigeria & Edo State, they belong to the Ika Ethnic Group. The Ika people have two(2) Local Governments in Delta State, and are also indigenous to Igbanke, Ekpon and other communities of Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde and Igueben Local Government Areas in Edo State. They speak Ika Language, a language with dialects such as; Agbor, Awu(spoken in Abavo), Owa, Ede, Ute, Idumesah, Owerre, Ekpon, Mbiri, Igbanke. Ika Language was classified by linguists under the Igboid cluster of languages. The standard form of Ika Language is said to be the Agbor and Ekpon dialects of the language.

Umunede is a community of the Ika speaking people of Delta State, Nigeria. It is the largest town in Ika North East with over 50,000 people. On the eastern part of the town, it neighbors Akumazi and Ekwuoma, while Agbor and Emuhu are its neighbors on the west. On the north is Mbiri, Igbodo on the north-east, Otolokpo and Owa on the south. The king of Umunede is His Royal Highness, Dr. Ezeagwu Ezenwali 1, FMNR (JP), Agadagidi, the Obi of Umunede kingdom.
