Owen Alan Lunt (born 2 September 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL League Two club Crewe Alexandra.
Having joined the club aged 10, Lunt come through the Crewe Alexandra academy system, and made his debut for the club aged 18 as a scholar in their EFL Trophy game against Leeds United U-21's at The Mornflake Stadium on 1 November 2022, coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute for Lachlan Brook. [3]
After being on the first team bench during the 2022–23 campaign, Lunt made his league debut in the following campaign for The Railwaymen on 9 September 2023 during a 4–1 win against Forest Green Rovers, coming on for Jack Powell in the 76th minute. [4] His 2023–24 campaign was ended by a back injury and on 28 March 2024, he signed a new one-year deal with an option of a second. [5]
On 13 August 2024, ten months after his last appearance for Crewe, Lunt returned from injury during a 2–1 loss against Rotherham United in the first round of the Carabao Cup. [6]
Lunt is the nephew of ex Crewe midfielder Kenny Lunt. [7]
