White Lake Charter Township is a charter township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Together with its two unincorporated communities, the township makes up part of the Detroit metropolitan area outskirts. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 30,950.

Gardsjøen is a lake in the municipality of Grue in Innlandet county, Norway. The 71-hectare (180-acre) lake is an oxbow lake that was formed by the river Glomma. Over time, this part of the river became separated from the river, forming a lake. The lake lies about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the village of Kirkenær.

Ansupa Lake is a 231-hectare (570-acre) horseshoe-shaped fresh water oxbow lake on the left bank of the Mahanadi river, opposite Banki in Cuttack district, Odisha, India. It is 40 km (25 mi) from the city of Cuttack. It is a fresh water lake situated amidst the Saranda Hills and enclosed by bamboo tree greenery and mango trees and acts as a shelter for the migratory birds in the wintry weather season. There are boating and fishing facilities. The lake has been designated as a protected Ramsar site since 2021.

A meander cutoff is a natural form of a cutting or cut in a river occurs when a pronounced meander (hook) in a river is breached by a flow that connects the two closest parts of the hook to form a new channel, a full loop. The steeper drop in gradient (slope) causes the river flow gradually to abandon the meander which will silt up with sediment from deposition. Cutoffs are a natural part of the evolution of a meandering river. Rivers form meanders as they flow laterally downstream.
