Oxycheilini is a tribe of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae. There are at least 3 genera and more than 70 described species in Oxycheilini. [1] [2]
These three genera belong to the tribe Oxycheilini:
Tiger beetles are a family of beetles, Cicindelidae, known for their aggressive predatory habits and running speed. The fastest known species of tiger beetle, Rivacindela hudsoni, can run at a speed of 9 km/h, or about 125 body lengths per second. As of 2005, about 2,600 species and subspecies were known, with the richest diversity in the Oriental (Indo-Malayan) region, followed by the Neotropics. While historically treated as a subfamily of ground beetles (Carabidae) under the name Cicindelinae, several studies since 2020 indicated that they should be treated as a family, the Cicindelidae, which are a sister group to Carabidae within the Adephaga.
Ellipsoptera is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are about 13 described species in Ellipsoptera, found in North America.
Euryarthron is a genus in the beetle family Cicindelidae. There are more than 20 described species in Euryarthron, found in Africa.
Neocollyris bonellii is an Asian species in the tiger beetle family Cicindelidae. It was described by Félix Édouard Guérin-Méneville in 1834.
Cicindela aulica is a species in the tiger beetle family Cicindelidae. It is found in Africa, southern Europe, and southwest Asia.
Epitragini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the subfamily Pimeliinae of the family Tenebrionidae. There are more than 30 genera in Epitragini, found in the North, Central, and South America.
Cicindelini is a tribe of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae, containing the overwhelming majority of genera and species in the family. There are more than 90 genera and 2,000 described species in Cicindelini.
Rhipiceridae is a family of beetles found worldwide. The larva of rhipicerids are parasitoids of cicada nymphs. Rhipiceridae and Dascillidae form the super family Dascilloidea, within the Elateriformia.
Xyloperthini is a tribe of horned powder-post beetles in the family Bostrichidae. There are more than 30 genera and 140 described species in Xyloperthini.
Calochrominae is a subfamily of net-winged beetles in the family Lycidae. There are at least 4 genera and more than 30 described species in Calochrominae.
Megacephalini is a tribe of big-headed tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae.
Cryptochilini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the subfamily Pimeliinae of the family Tenebrionidae. There are about 11 genera in Cryptochilini, found in tropical Africa.
Evaniosomini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the subfamily Pimeliinae of the family Tenebrionidae. There are about eight genera in Evaniosomini, found primarily in the Neotropics.
Nycteliini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the subfamily Pimeliinae of the family Tenebrionidae. There are about 12 genera in Nycteliini, found in the Neotropics.
Trilobocarini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the subfamily Pimeliinae of the family Tenebrionidae. There are about five genera in Trilobocarini, found mainly in the Neotropics.
Heleini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the family Tenebrionidae. There are more than 40 genera in Heleini, found in Australasia.
Scotobiini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the family Tenebrionidae. There are about six genera in Scotobiini, found in the Neotropics.
Titaenini is a tribe of darkling beetles in the family Tenebrionidae. There are at least eight genera recognised in the tribe Titaenini, all found in Australasia.
Manticorini is a tribe of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae. There are about 6 genera and more than 30 described species in Manticorini.
Ctenostomatini is a tribe of tiger beetles in the family Cicindelidae. There are at least two genera and more than 230 described species in Ctenostomatini.
