Přísečná is a village and municipality ( obec ) in Český Krumlov District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
Obec is the Czech and Slovak word for a municipality. The literal meaning of the word is "commune" or "community". It is the smallest administrative unit that is governed by elected representatives. Cities are also municipalities. The council is called "obecní zastupitelstvo/obecné zastupiteľstvo" or "zastupitelstvo města/mestské zastupiteľstvo" or "zastupitelstvo městyse", the office is called "obecní úřad/obecný úrad" or "úřad města/mestský úrad" or "úřad městyse". An obec can have its own flag and coat of arms and is composed of one or more cadastral areas. An obec can have several settlements or parts whether villages or hamlets.
Český Krumlov District is a district (okres) within South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is Český Krumlov.
South Bohemia is an administrative unit (kraj) of the Czech Republic, located mostly in the southern part of its historical land of Bohemia, with a small part in southwestern Moravia. The western part of the South Bohemian Region is former Prachens (Prácheňsko), a huge archaic region with distinctive features with its capital, Písek. Přísečná lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Český Krumlov, 19 km (12 mi) south-west of České Budějovice, and 140 km (87 mi) south of Prague.
