Bhagat Singh Koshyari is an Indian politician who served as the 22nd governor of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2023. An RSS veteran, Koshyari served as National Vice-President of BJP and party's 3rd State president for Uttarakhand. He also served as 2nd Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2001 to 2002 and thereafter, was the leader of the opposition in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from 2002 to 2003. He also served as an MLC in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council and MLA in Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. He later served as an MP in Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2014 from Uttarakhand and then the MP in the 16th Lok Sabha from Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar constituency, earning him the distinction of being elected in both houses of State Legislature and both houses of National Parliament respectively.
Vasantrao Phulsingh Naik was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1963 until 1975. Naik was born in a small village called Gahuli near Pusad in eastern Yavatmal district of Maharashtra.

Vasantrao Naik Government Institute of Arts and Social Sciences, established in 1885 as Morris college, is one of the oldest general degree colleges in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It takes its name from the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the late Vasantrao Naik, who was an alumnus of the college. It is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis is an Indian politician who is serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 30 June 2022 alongside Ajit Pawar who was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the 5th time on 2 July 2023. He also served as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 31 October 2014 to 12 November 2019, Leader of the Opposition, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 2019 to 2022 and the President of BJP, Maharashtra state unit from 2013 to 2015. Having been sworn in at the age of 44, he is the second-youngest Chief Minister in Maharashtra's history after Sharad Pawar. He served a 5-day long second term as Chief Minister during the 2019 Maharashtra political crisis, before resigning on 28 November 2019. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Fadnavis has represented the Nagpur South West constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since 2009 and Nagpur West from 1999 to 2009. He was also Mayor of Nagpur from 1997 to 2001.

He is currently the Minister for Revenue, in the Government of Maharashtra and was the 1st Minister sworn in the Eknath Shinde ministry expansion, after Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis in the Cabinet Expansion held on 9 August 2022. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has been a member of the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha since 1995. He was elected in the 2014 with 1,21,459 votes and most recently in 2019 with record breaking 1,32,316 votes.

Mahanayak Vasant Tu is a 2015 Indian Marathi language biopic film starring Chinmay Mandlekar. It is based on the life of ex Chief Minister of Maharashtra state Shree Vasantrao Naik. He was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for more than 11 years from 5 December 1963 to 20 February 1975. The film stars Chinmay Mandlekar as Vasantrao Naik, Nisha Parulekar, Bharat Ganeshpure, Ravi Patwardhan, Prakash Dhotre, Jayraj Nair. The film also has a special appearance by popular actress Prajakta Mali. The film is written and directed by Nilesh Jalamkar. And produced by Baliram Rathod under the banner Aditie Film Production House.
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis.
Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra for the second time on 23 November 2019. Alongside Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the deputy chief minister. Before a Supreme Court-ordered no confidence motion could take place, Pawar resigned on 26 November. Fadnavis resigned shortly thereafter, making his second ministry the shortest Maharashtra ministry, surpassing P. K. Sawant's 1963 interim government, that had lasted for nine days.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi or Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi, abbreviated as MVA, is a state-level political coalition formed after the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray of SHS (UBT), then Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar of the NCP and Sonia Gandhi of the INC, along with the support from the Samajwadi Party, PWPI, CPI(M) and several other political parties including Independent MLAs. MVA is currently the official opposition in Maharashtra Legislature.
Shankarrao Chavan was appointed as Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the first time on 21 February 1975, replacing Vasantrao Naik. His first ministry lasted till 16 April 1977, and was succeeded by Vasantdada Patil's ministry.
Yashwantrao Chavan formed his second ministry as Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 8 March 1962, after leading his Indian National Congress to a majority in 1962 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election. He demitted office in November 1962, having been appointed Minister of Defence by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He was succeeded by his buildings and communication minister, Marotrao Kannamwar.
Following 1972 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, incumbent chief minister Vasantrao Naik was re-appointed, and he formed his third government on 14 March 1972. This was to be Naik's last government which served until 20 February 1975.
Marotrao Kannamwar became the chief minister of Maharashtra on 20 November 1962. He succeeded Yashwantrao Chavan, who had been appointed defence minister of India by Jawaharlal Nehru. Kannamwar had previously been buildings and communications minister in Chavan's cabinet.
Vasantrao Naik became the chief minister of Maharashtra on 5 December 1963. He succeeded P. K. Sawant's interim government that had been sworn in after Marotrao Kannamwar's death. Naik's government served until 1967 legislative elections, after which Naik was sworn in for a second term.
