Pak Yong-il (Korean :박용일;1966 –September 2022) was a North Korean politician,who served as chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party as of 28 August 2019[ citation needed ] and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly. [3]
Pak Yong-il was born in North Korea in 1966. He attended Kim Il Sung University.
Pak Yong-il became a member of the Peace and Unity Committee,and later became Deputy Chairman of the Peace and Unity Committee in March 2018. He became a member of the Central Committee of the Korean Red Cross in August 2006. He took part in negotiations of the Korean Red Cross representing North Korea. [4] He succeeded Kim Yong-dae as the chairman of the Central Committee of the Social Democratic Party of Korea and Vice President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly on 28 August 2019. Pak died in 18 September 2022. [5] On 20 September 2022,North Korean state media reported that leader Kim Jong Un sent a wreath the day before to express condolences over Pak Yong-il's death. [6]

The death of Kim Jong Il was reported by North Korean state television news on 19 December 2011. The presenter Ri Chun-hee announced that he had died on 17 December at 8:30 am of a massive heart attack while travelling by train to an area outside Pyongyang. Reportedly,he had received medical treatment for cardiac and cerebrovascular diseases,and during the trip,Kim was said to have had an "advanced acute myocardial infarction,complicated with a serious heart shock". However,it was reported in December 2012 by South Korean media that the heart attack had instead occurred in a fit of rage over construction faults in a crucial power plant project at Huichon in Chagang Province.

Labor Hero is one of the highest titles of honor of North Korea and the highest decoration of the country overall. The award was probably scheduled for establishment in the summer of 1950,but the Korean War postponed these plans. When the war had entered a phase of stalemate along the 38th parallel,the government had time to officially launch the decoration,originally under the name Korea Hero of Labor. 16 people were decorated Labor Heroes during the war and more since then. Hwang Sun-hui was a North Korean politician who served in several high-ranking positions in the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK),including in the Supreme People's Assembly and the Central Committee of the WPK. She was affiliated with the Korean Revolution Museum from 1965,and was its director from 1990.
The 3rd Conference of the Workers' Party of Korea was held in Pyongyang on September 28,2010. The meeting elected the highest authority of the Workers' Party of Korea,and revised the party charter. North Korean leader Kim Jong Il also attended the meeting. Ri Yong-suk was a North Korean politician and revolutionary. A veteran of the anti-Japanese struggle,Ri had close relations with all three generations of the Kim dynasty. During WWII,she was with Kim Il Sung in the Soviet 88th Separate Rifle Brigade. During the Korean War,she took care of Kim Jong Il,eldest son and future heir of Kim Il Sung. Under Kim Jong Un,she was portrayed as a link between the original guerrilla generation and the current leadership. Ri was elected to the Supreme People's Assembly in 1998 and 2003.
The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang from 5 to 12 January 2021. A total of 7,000 people participated in the congress including 5,000 delegates. The Party Congress took place in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic where no cases were reported.
The vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly is one of the members that form the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly. The vice chairman of the SPA Standing Committee is elected by the Supreme People's Assembly alongside the SPA Standing Committee's chairman,secretary general and members. From 1972 until 1998,the vice chairman of the SPA Standing Committee was concurrently the vice chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly.
