The XVth Mediterranean Games Almería 2005, commonly known as the 2005 Mediterranean Games, were the 15th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Almería, Spain over 10 days, from 24 June to 3 July 2005, where 3,203 athletes from 21 countries participated. There were a total of 258 medal events from 27 different sports.
The Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) is an international multi-sport event organized by the Commonwealth Games Federation. The games were held in the years, mid-way between when the Commonwealth Games are held, until 2008. They continued to be held every four years, but in the year after the Commonwealth Games are held, from 2011 to 2015. Since 2017, they've been held in the year before the Commonwealth Games are held. The first edition was held in Edinburgh, Scotland from 10–14 August 2000. The age limitation of the athletes is from 14 to 18.
The 1966 Asian Games, also known as the V Asiad, were a continental multi-sport event that was held from 9 to 20 December 1966, in Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 142 events in 16 sports were contested by athletes during the games. Taiwan and Israel returned to the Asian Games, reversing the decision taken by Indonesia in the previous Asiad to debar the two countries. A total number of 2,500 athletes and officials from 18 countries, were involved in this Asiad.
The 7th Asian Games were held from 1 to 16 September 1974 in Tehran, Imperial State of Iran. The Aryamehr Sports Complex was built for the Games. The Asian Games were hosted in the Middle East for the first time. Tehran, the capital of Iran, played host to 3,010 athletes coming from 25 countries/NOCs, the highest number of participants since the inception of the Games.
The 5th All-Africa Games were held from September 20 to October 1, 1991, in Cairo, Egypt. Forty-three countries participated in eighteen sports.
The 8th All Africa Games were 5–17 October 2003 in Abuja, Nigeria. 53 countries participated in 23 sports. The main venue was the newly constructed Abuja Stadium. The organizing committee was headed by Nigerian Amos Adamu.
The 5th Pan Arab Games were held in Damascus, Syria between October 6 and October 21, 1976. 2,174 athletes from 11 countries participated in events in 18 sports.
The XII Bolivarian Games were a multi-sport event held between April 24 - May 2, 1993, in Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The Games were organized by the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO).
The 1991 South Asian Games were held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 22 December to 31 December 1991.
The 1993 South Asian Games, officially the 6th South Asian Games, took place from December 20 to December 27, 1993, in Dhaka, Bangladesh and thus in SAF games history, Dhaka became the first city to host the event for second time.

The 1979 Mediterranean Games, officially known as the VIII Mediterranean Games, and commonly known as Split 1979, were the 8th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Split, Yugoslavia, from 15 to 29 September 1979, where 2,408 athletes from 14 countries participated. There were a total of 192 medal events from 26 different sports.
The X Mediterranean Games, commonly known as the 1987 Mediterranean Games, were the 10th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Latakia, Syria, from 11 to 25 September 1987, where 1,996 athletes from 18 countries participated. There were a total of 162 medal events from 19 different sports.
The XII Mediterranean Games, commonly known as the 1993 Mediterranean Games, were the 12th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Languedoc-Roussillon, France, from 16 June to 27 June 1993, where 2,598 athletes from 19 countries participated. There were a total of 221 medal events from 25 different sports.
The XIII Mediterranean Games, commonly known as the 1997 Mediterranean Games, were the 13th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Bari, Italy, from 13 to 25 June 1997, where 2,956 athletes from 21 countries participated. There were a total of 234 medal events from 27 different sports.

The country participated in all of the 10 sports: athletics, basketball, boxing, football, kabbadi, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling. Its medal tally of 66 placed it second amongst the seven nations. Weightlifting was its most successful event, where it won 29 medals.
Pakistan was the host nation for the 4th South Asian Games held in its capital, Islamabad between 20 and 27 October 1989. The country participated in all of the 10 sports: athletics, boxing, kabbadi, squash, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling. Its medal tally of 97 placed it second amongst the seven nations. Weightlifting was again its most successful event, where it won 28 medals with athletics a close second with 27 medals.
Pakistan was the host nation for the second time when the 9th South Asian Games were held in its capital, Islamabad between 29 March and 7 April 2004. The country participated in all 15 sports. Its medal tally of 143 placed it second amongst the seven nations. Swimming was its most successful event, where it won 27 medals, though without any gold. Athletics were a close second with 25 medals and shooting third with 24 medals. It won the most golds in boxing with 9.
The 12th African Games was held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This was the first time that the African Games were hosted by Morocco following the country's readmission to the African Union in January 2017.
The 1967 Thailand National Games, officially known as the I Thailand National Games, and commonly known as Phra Nakhon 1967, was a multi-sport event held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 1 to 5 November 1967 with 103 events in 15 sports and disciplines featured in the games. This was Bangkok's first time to host the Thailand National Games. A total of 716 athletes from 5 regions participated in the games.
