The Palace of Trinity (Spanish : Palacio de la Trinidad) is a palace in Madrid, Spain that depends on the Directorate-General for State Heritage, itself depending on the Ministry of Finance. [1]
It was built in 1928 by the architect Luis Alemany Soler, who two decades later would build—together with Manuel Muñoz Monasterio —the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The building was property of the State and has been the headquarters of the State Secretariat for Foreign Policy, and also the headquarters of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE).
In 1949, the Spanish government donated the palace to Peru to host its embassy, while the latter donated a 10,000 m2 terrain in the southeastern corner of El Campo de Marte in reciprocity. [2] In 1969, both areas were returned to their original countries. [3]
During the Spanish transition it was the headquarters of the Ministry of Governance of the government of the Union of the Democratic Centre (between 1976 and 1979), [4] and later, from 1979 to 2006, it was the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute.
Since 2011, the facilities were empty and needed a major restoration process, which led to it being put up for sale at public auction in 2014, being acquired by Pescaderías Coruñesas for around € 6.6 million. [5] In 2020, the ABC reported about the new uses that the Palace would have. It also explains that Pescaderías Coruñesas acquired it in 2015 for € 1.5 million, given its deterioration; although the initial auction price was € 6.4 million. [6]
Esperanza Aguirre y Gil de Biedma is a Spanish politician. As member of the People's Party (PP), she served as President of the Senate between 1999 and 2002, as President of the Community of Madrid between 2003 and 2012 and as Minister of Education and Culture (1996–1999). Neo-Mudéjar is a type of Moorish Revival architecture practised in the Iberian Peninsula and to a far lesser extent in Ibero-America. This architectural movement emerged as a revival of Mudéjar style. It was an architectural trend of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that began in Madrid and Barcelona and quickly spread to other regions in Spain and Portugal. It used Mudéjar style elements such as the horseshoe arch, arabesque tiling, and abstract shaped brick ornamentations for the façades of modern buildings.
The Campo de Marte, also known as the Plaza de la Revolución, is a public park in Jesús María District, Lima, Peru. It is one of the largest parks in the metropolitan area of the city, and similar in size to the Park of the Exhibition and the Park of the Reserve. It was originally part of the Santa Beatriz area of Lima District and, from 1903 to 1938, housed the Santa Beatriz Hippodrome until its replacement by the one in San Felipe estate, located further south in the district.
