Palava City is a planned urban township near Dombivli in Maharashtra, India. Developed by the Lodha Group, it spans approximately 5,000 acres and is strategically located between Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Kalyan. With a focus on sustainability, modern infrastructure, and community living, Palava City houses over 2 Lakh residents [1] across its first two phases. Drawing inspiration from Singapore's urban planning success, Palava is built on 5-10-15 neighbourhood planning principle [5] , offering ample convenience to its residents: 5 minutes to retail and essentials, 10 minutes to parks and recreational areas, and 15 minutes to schools and commercial hubs. The first phase of Palava City, spread over approximately 300 acres (120 ha), was completed in 2016. By 2016, the company had sold 1,350 homes worth ₹690 crore within the township of Palava. Kalyan is a city on the banks of Ulhas River in Thane district of Maharashtra state in Konkan division. It is governed by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Kalyan is a subdivision (Taluka) of Thane district. Kalyan and its neighbouring township of Dombivli jointly form Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, abbreviated as KDMC. It is a founding city of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Kalyan is the 7th biggest city in Maharashtra and 29th in India. Kalyan also serves as a major railway station for the trains bound to Mumbai and is a large junction separating two routes, one going Karjat and other Kasara.

The Vikhroli-Kopar Khairane Link Road (VKLR), also known as the JVLR-Kopar Khairane-Ghansoli Bridge, is a proposed 7.5 km to 10 km, freeway grade road bridge connecting the Indian city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. The new link road would start at Eastern Express Highway (EEH) where Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) ends in Vikhroli, then cross Thane Creek and Harbour railway line and will terminate at Kopar Khairane in Navi Mumbai before ending on Thane-Belapur Road. The link would be a six-lane road of about 10 km in length including a 2-kilometre-long (1.2 mi) bridge over the Thane Creek. At present motorists have to take either the Vashi Bridge or Mulund–Airoli Link Road to go to Navi Mumbai and Pune. The new road will help motorists save time and fuel. The project is estimated to cost around ₹ 550 to 1200 crore. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) appointed N P Bridging, as designing consultants for the project, which was supposed to submit the final report on the link road by mid-September 2016.
Orange Line 12 (Extension), or the Kalyan-Dombivli-Taloja Line is a proposed line of Mumbai Metro. It will be an extension of Orange Line. The total length of the line is planned to be 22.17 kilometres (13.78 mi), and the route will be completely elevated. The total cost of construction is confirmed to be Rs 2037.20 crore. MMRDA approved the Kalyan-Dombivli-Taloja Metro line. There will be 19 stations. This line will connect Navi Mumbai city with Kalyan-Dombivali city.
