Panchal is a Master Craftsman caste of India. Panchal is a collective term for class of engineers, architects, priests, sculptors and temple builders. They belong to the Vishwakarma sect [1]

Panchal, Vishwakarma, Singh, Dhiman, Sharma, Vashista are some of the surnames used by this community. [2] They maintain clan exogamy as a strict rule for marriage.

Vishvakarma or Vishvakarman is a craftsman deity and the divine architect of the devas in contemporary Hinduism. In the early texts, the craftsman deity was known as Tvastar and the word "Vishvakarma" was originally used as an epithet for any powerful deity. Gopal Krishna Vishwakarma, more popularly known as G K Vishwakarma, was an eminent orthopedic surgeon, academician and public health administrator. He is a state-level minister of Cottage Industries, Co-Operation, Salt Industries, Protocol (Independent Charge), Industries,Road and Building, Forest, Environment And Climate Change, Printing And Stationery (State Minister), Government of Gujarat. He was BJP President of Ahmedabad city and he has served as the Convenor of Udhyog Cell Bharatiya Janata Party Gujarat.
