Pantha Kanai (born 2 February) is a Bangladeshi singer, drummer, tabla player and music teacher.

Early life

He was born and brought up in the port city of Chittagong. His mother is a musician. He learned to play the classical tabla at an early age. From the age of six he played classical tabla with his mother. He started playing jazz drums while in high school, later becoming one of the most popular singers and drummers in the country, playing drums in bands like Souls and Nagar Baul. In class 10, when he started playing drums, formed a band called Ocean. Soon after that he started singing himself.

Career

Kanai released his debut album "Ma" in 2001 with the band Tandav, the same year he released another album titled "Adam Hawa". In 2002 he released "Mon Karighor" and in 2003 he released his last solo album "Nouka Zamin Natai". The famous "Ore Neel Doriya" from the movie Sareng Bau (1978) was released in the album Chumki-1 released in 2003. He sang on the remixed version of the song. For the same album, Kanai also sang a remix of the famous song "Chumki Chala Eka Pathe" from the film Dost Dushman (1978), which was re-released on Anumop Recordings' YouTube channel on 19 October 2020. [1] The National Award-winning song "Haire Manush Rongin Phanush" from the film "Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo" (1982) was produced by Soundtech and titled "Rongin Manush" with music direction by DJ Mortaza in 2005. [2] The remix version is used in the album, with vocals by Pantho Kanai. Dilshad Nahar Kona, Elita Karim, John Alamgir, Sabbir sang the theme song of the T20 Cricket World Cup held in Bangladesh in 2014 "Char Chokkha Hoi Hoi". Huda, Badhon Sarkar Puja and Kaushik Hossain Taposh gave their voice together. The song is composed and composed by Fuad Al Muqtadir and lyrics are composed by Anam Biswas and Rifayet Ahmed, also the music video is directed by Ashikur Rahman. It was officially released worldwide on 20 February 2014. [3] Most of its songs are expressed in Bengali language; English language has also been included in it. [4] Through the song, a new genre like Flash Mob was born in the main cities of Bangladesh. [5] In 2016, he released a three-song solo album "Dehkhachcha" online in 2016, almost 13 years after the release of his last solo album. In the 2017 film Shotto , she voiced a duet with Badhan Sarkar Puja in an item song titled "Raja Bodol" composed by Bappa Mazumder and written by Ahsan Kabir. He then released two music videos on YouTube in September 2018 titled "Deher Majhe" composed and composed by Sumon Koliyan and "Mon Shopilam" composed and composed by Rusho Mahtab. In 2018, he launched a music school called Drumbaaz. In February 2019, he lent his voice to a song titled "Poribibir Majhare Dekho" for Fahmida Nabi's album titled Jiboner Joyganer with 15 patriotic songs composed by Borno Chakraborty. In 2020, a song titled "Ami Nabab" from the film Nabab LLB , starring Shakib Khan and Orchita Sporshia was first recorded in his voice. However, the version sung by Indian musician Sampreet Dutt was kept in the film. Director Anonno Mamun faced criticism from fans and audiences for not including his version in the film. [6]

Char Chokka Hoi Hoi was the official theme song of the 2014 ICC World Twenty20. It was released worldwide on 20 February 2014. Most of the song is in Bengali while some phrases in the opening lines are in English. The song is composed by famous Bangladeshi composer and artist Fuad al Muqtadir and has been sung by an ensemble of young vocalists, namely Dilshad Nahar Kona, Elita Karim, Pantha Kanai, Johan Alamgir, Sanvir Huda, Badhon Sarkar Puja and Kaushik Hossain Taposh.

Rahat Hayat, better known by his stage name DJ Rahat, is a Bangladeshi DJ. He has opened a school for DJs in Bangladesh.

The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan as an intelligence agent from Bangladesh tasked with a secret operation in West Bengal, India and Subhashree Ganguly as a crime news reporter, Nabab's love interest. And features Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Amit Hasan, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Arindam Saha in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Savvy Gupta and Akassh. The film was released on 26 June 2017 on the occasion of Eid in Bangladesh and released in India on 28 July 2017.

Boss 2: Back to Rule is a 2017 India-Bangladesh joint production Bengali action thriller film directed by Baba Yadav and story written by Jeet. It is a sequel to his 2013 film, Boss: Born to Rule and the second installment of the Boss film series. The film features Jeet, Subhashree Ganguly and Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria in the leading roles. Jeet Gannguli composed the music for the film. The film was released in West Bengal on 23 June and in Bangladesh on 26 June 2017, and in the rest of India on 30 June 2017. It is the fourth highest grossing Bengali film of all time.

Somnur Monir Konal is a Bangladeshi singer and television host who is best known as a playback singer for Bangladeshi films. She debuted in the entertainment industry by winning the musical television reality show Channel i Shera Kontho in 2009. Since then she has recorded songs for dozens of films, hosted various television shows, and judged the 2019 edition of children's musical reality show Ganer Raja. "Ore Neel Doriya Amay De Re De Chhariya" is a Bengali film song from 1978 released Bangladeshi movie Sareng Bou. The song is penned by Mukul Chowdhury and is considered as one of the evergreen compositions of Bangladeshi Music. Originally composed and produced by Alam Khan and recorded on Abdul Jabbar's voice. The song is filmed on a theme where a sailor man's wife is dreaming about her husband's home coming. Farooque has acted as sailor captain in this film, who carry out the song. This film's director Abdullah Al Mamun has filmed this song's opening on a running train, second verses on a Bangladeshi Sampan and filming of the final verses has taken place on a human trail.

The film revolves around a rape victim Shuvra who is a radio jockey by profession, with Shakib Khan, who fought a legal battle in the court as her chief lawyer, Mahiya Mahi and Shahiduzzaman Selim played in the lead roles. Manush: Child of Destiny is a 2023 Indian Bengali-language action thriller film written and directed by Sanjoy Somadder. It marks the directorial debut of the Bangladeshi film director Sanjoy Somadder in Indian Bengali film. Produced by Superstar Jeet under his production Grassroot Entertainment and Jeetz Filmworks and distributed by AA Films, it is the third Bengali film released in Hindi after Chengiz and Bagha Jatin which were also released in Hindi. The film stars Superstar Jeet, Jeetu Kamal, Susmita Chatterjee and Bidya Sinha Saha Mim in the pivotal roles.
