"Papermill" is a song recorded by American hip hop duo Madvillain. It was released 26 May 2010 as part of the Adult Swim Singles Program. [1] [2] [3]

Background

"Papermill" was intended to serve as the first single from Madvillain's still-unreleased followup to Madvillainy . [4] According to label Stones Throw, the album had been in progress since 2009. [5] The song was the second single released in the 2010 Adult Swim Singles Program. [6] The Madlib-produced beat samples a chopped-up europop song with German lyrics. [7] Adult Swim also released some behind-the-scenes videos to go along with the song of Madlib talking about his creative process while taste-testing some Intelligentsia coffee branded with his name. [8]

Quasimoto is a side project of hip hop producer Madlib, from Oxnard, California. Quasimoto is composed of Madlib and his animated alter ego Lord Quas. Lord Quas is known for his high pitched voice, which often interacts with Madlib's regular voice. Quasimoto was conceived one day in the studio, when Madlib decided to rap to his own beats. Madlib did not like the sound of his voice so he decided to slow his recorder down, rap slowly, then speed the recording back up to produce Lord Quas' distinctive high pitched sound. Quasimoto's lyrics frequently address themes such as violence and drug use in a comedic fashion, and the character of Lord Quas has frequently been interpreted as a satirical take on gangsta-rap.

"No More Parties in LA" is a song by American rapper Kanye West from his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo (2016). The song features vocals from fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. It was produced by West and Madlib, who began the recording in 2010. The beat was originally offered to Freddie Gibbs before being given to West and Lamar by Madlib, with the two of them using it instead. The song was released as the second promotional single from the album as part of West's GOOD Fridays series on January 18, 2016.

MadGibbs American hip hop duo

MadGibbs is an American hip hop duo formed in San Francisco, California. The duo is composed of Gary, Indiana-based Freddie Gibbs rapping and Oxnard, California native Madlib producing. They formed MadGibbs in late 2011 and have released four extended plays (EPs) under that name, and later two studio albums, Piñata in 2014, and Bandana in 2019, credited as Freddie Gibbs & Madlib.

One Beer (Madvillain song)

"One Beer" is a song recorded by American hip hop duo Madvillain, originally intended for inclusion on their debut studio album Madvillainy. The song instead ended up being used on MF Doom's 2004 album Mm..Food, credited to MF Doom instead of Madvillain. "One Beer" was released as a limited-press 7" single in 2004, given away by select online retailers with copies of Madvillainy. An animated music video was released on 16 November 2018, 14 years after Mm..Food's release.
