Parker Ford (born July 20, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). [1]
Dale Martin Hawerchuk was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. Drafted first overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Hawerchuk played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 16 seasons as a member of the Jets, Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, and Philadelphia Flyers. He won the NHL's Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 1982 and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in his second year of eligibility in 2001. Hawerchuk served as the head coach of the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League from 2010 to 2019.
Ulf Bo Samuelsson is a Swedish-American former professional ice hockey defenceman who formerly served as assistant coach of the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. He played several seasons in the NHL with the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, and Philadelphia Flyers. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with the Penguins in 1991 and 1992, and the first European-born player to have 2,000 career penalty minutes.

Dustin Byfuglien is an American former professional ice hockey player. He played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers, and Winnipeg Jets. Drafted as a defenseman, he played both forward and defense in his career, though he generally played defense in his later seasons. Byfuglien helped Chicago win the Stanley Cup in 2010. Byfuglien was the first Black American-born player to win the Stanley Cup. Byfuglien became a professional fisherman after his hockey career.
Trevor Lewis is an American professional ice hockey center for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lewis appeared in parts of 12 seasons with the Kings after being drafted 16th overall by the team in the 2006 NHL entry draft; he spent one season with the Winnipeg Jets before signing with the Calgary Flames in 2021. He won Stanley Cup championships with the Kings in 2012 and 2014.

The 2016 Heritage Classic was a regular season outdoor National Hockey League (NHL) game that was held on October 23, 2016. The game featured the Winnipeg Jets hosting the Edmonton Oilers at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, home of the CFL's Blue Bombers. The Oilers defeated the Jets, 3–0. This was the fourth NHL Heritage Classic game, and the first of four outdoor regular season games during the 2016–17 NHL season. Unusual for the NHL outdoor games, the 2016 Heritage Classic was held in mid-autumn, during the first month of the regular season, to avoid Winnipeg's harsher winter temperatures.

This was the first season since the Jets moved from Atlanta that the team did not have a captain, as Blake Wheeler was stripped of his captaincy on September 16, 2022. The Jets clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Minnesota Wild on April 11, 2023, but lost to the Pacific Division champion and eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, in five games in the First Round.
