Party of One is the debut solo album by American blues rock artist George Thorogood. It was released August 4, 2017 by the label Rounder Records. [1] [2] Party of One is the first album Thorogood recorded and released without his long-time band "the Destroyers". [3]
In 2017, Thorogood returned to his label Rounder Records to release a solo album. Thorogood said: "I guess it was long overdue. The record label (Rounder) had been on me for some time to put out a solo album." It took Thorogood over a year to record the album. [4]
The album was recorded at the House Of Blues Studios, in California, [5] and produced by Jim Gaines. [3] [6]

The album is composed entirely of blues covers, from artists Thorogood said: "really means something to me." [7] The album also features a live version of "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" recorded live, at Rockline in 1999. [6]
CD versions of the album also feature a bonus track, "Dynaflow Blues" written by John Ned Shines. [6] [8]

George Lawrence Thorogood is an American musician, singer and songwriter. His "high-energy boogie-blues" sound became a staple of 1980s US rock radio, with hits like his original songs "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone". He has also helped to popularize older songs by American icons, such as "Move It on Over", "Who Do You Love?", and "House Rent Blues/One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer".

He resides in Dallas, Texas, and plays locally in and around Texas' major cities, especially Dallas/Fort Worth with his own band, Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat, in addition to the remainder of the United States and also Canada.
