The 1953 Giro d'Italia was the 36th edition of the Giro d'Italia. Eugene A. DePasquale is an American lawyer and Democratic politician who served as the Pennsylvania Auditor General from 2013 to 2021. Air France Flight 447 (AF447/AFR447) was a scheduled international passenger flight from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Paris, France. On 1 June 2009, inconsistent airspeed indications and miscommunication led to the pilots inadvertently stalling the Airbus A330. They failed to recover the plane from the stall, and the plane crashed into the mid-Atlantic Ocean at 02:14 UTC, killing all 228 passengers and crew on board.

Expedition Africa is an eight-part reality television miniseries that originally aired from May 31, 2009 to July 12, 2009 on History. Produced by Mark Burnett, the program follows four modern day explorers—a navigator, a wildlife expert, a survivalist, and a journalist—as they substantially retrace H.M. Stanley's famed expedition to find Dr. David Livingstone. Their route deviates somewhat from Stanley's in that it includes a treacherous crossing of the Uluguru Mountains, which Stanley circumvented. Ricardo Amezquita Carreño, better known by his ring name Virus, is a Mexican luchador. He is currently working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), and portrays a rudo wrestling character. Amezquita originally worked in CMLL's Minis division as Piratita Morgan, and held the CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship under the name Damiancito El Guerrero, but was later moved into the regular division and given the name "Virus". He has served as one of the main trainers for CMLL's wrestling school, having had a hand in training hundreds of students at the CMLL school since 2008 either to some degree.

El Sagrado is a Mexican Luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). His ring name is Spanish for "The Sacred One". Pasquale Giannattasio was an Italian sprinter who won a gold medal in the 50 m at the 1967 European Indoor Games. He was part of the Italian 4 × 100 m relay team that finished seventh at the 1964 Summer Olympics. He won two gold medals with the national relay team at the Mediterranean Games in 1963 and 1967. He took part in 23 international competitions from 1963 to 1968.
